What a Way to End Memorial Day 2015

Friends suggested that we gather for Hot Lobster Rolls at the Monkey Farm to celebrate Memorial Day. What a treat! Don't be put off by the name. There's lots of history there and the food speaks volumes. Three of us had Lobster Rolls. Huge portions accompanied by fresh cole slaw and home made... read more

Haven't been in this place in over 40 years. I still remember throwing darts and drinking beer here. Can't say that I every ate here back then. In the last 20 years or so, my wife and I always say that we should try this place as we pass by time and time again. Well, after returning from a long... More

This was hands down one of the best meals I've eaten a very long time. We were a little skeptical to stop in because the restaurant was just off the main road and looked crowded, but figured if it's crowded it must be good. SO happy we went with that logic. I ordered the special of the day, a grilled... More

Great lunch but a really long wait for everything - not sure I would return in the evening if there was this much of a wait for lunch

A local hang out for the people of old Saybrook. Very old inside and needs updating no draft beer sold here only bottled beer. However this establishment has the best lunch and dinners in the town with very reasonable prices.

Can use a little updating but then again that's part of its charm. I like the chalkboard bathroom. Kinda Family friendly during the day. This place is awesome. Friendly down to earth staff and consistently delicious food. CASH ONLY!

I had the special entrée - Filet Mignon - it was absolutely delicious!!! 5 stars for that meal - served with perfectly sautéed mushrooms, a moist baked potato and tender crisp FRESH green beans. All for about $18.00 (without tax/tip) - couldn't believe how good it was! We have visited here before but this meal is worth going back for... More

Wow - what a change has come over the Monkey Farm. Great food. Noisy and crowded but worth it. Lunch or dinner. Doesn't matter.

This place is the Old Saybrook version of Cheers. A true local hangout. Poised dangerously close to the intersection of Main Street and Route 1 (still amazed that no one has hit the building) and always has a full parking lot. The menu is pretty basic - burgers, sandwiches, steaks and stuff. Nothing here is outstanding - just good homemade... More

We enjoy this place so much we have been here 3 times in the past week! The atmosphere is "neighborhood bar" which we love. Having been to a few hundred different restaurants (usually very pricey) all over the world, it is refreshing to be able to go to a place where the food and service is always great. We have... More
