The Monkey Farm has a lot to offer: cheap drinks, decent food, casual atmosphere, accessible location. The staff is pretty cranky and this is a place where the summer "boaters" and occasional groups of Harley-riding dentists, accountants and other monied nerds like to frequent on their inordinately expensive chrome-clad, baffle-void steel sleds. The crowd may look a little rough around... More

Leave your credit card at home—it's not honored here. Leave your specialness at home—it's not interesting here. Leave your highfalutin sensibilities at home—they'll ruin your night. I sat down at the bar with my wife. I'm 61, I'm a Presbyterian minister, I'm bored with preciousness. Just give me people being themselves and not caring about who's important or impressive or... This was a local bar with very good pub food. Family owned and family employees. Speaks for itself. The food was average to low price and the service was fast and friendly.

Had wonderful burgers for dinner liked the choice of 8 or 12 ounce burger's. Means lunch tomorrow too! Service was good, a really interesting and rustic place visually.

I really want to give more than 3 stars, but I just can't. Let me explain...the food is great, the service we had, horrible. I went with two coworkers for lunch and after we seated ourselves, we first had to get our own menus after 5 minutes of waiting and no server. Then we waited another ten minutes until she... More

Great Service / Great Food ---Have dined there several times trying different menu items each time. We have NEVER been dissapointed. Key Lime pie better than in Florida. Dining experience well worth the 45 minute drive we take to get there. Highly recommend this place.Seafood on par with Rockport,Gloucester and Essex Ma.restaurants. Holly and Dave are super bartenders and can... More

We had dinner there tonight. We both had the ribeye. The food was good, steaks a little over done for what we ordered but still good. My only negative comment would be that it isn't apparent when you walk in what you're suppose to do -seat yourself or wait to be seated. We stood in the bar area for several... More

Yes, The Monkey Farm USED to be a hard core biker bar. But now it's as much of a family friendly place as Friendlies. They have lots of different types of food (including burgers, salads, soups, and other sandwiches), but what you go for is the lobster rolls! You wouldn't think that a bar is the place to go for...
