Went here on a Sunday afternoon, the place was packed but we did manage to get a table right away. The waitress was great, very friendly and conversed easily with us, she even 'got' our quirky humour right away and joined in . We did have a bit of a wait for our order but it was worth it, the... Hands down, the best Broiled Flounder and Apple Crisp I've had in this side of the New England States. Thank you, guys, for making my unplanned stop (traffic was a standstill nightmare on I-95) in Old Saybrook a memorable, lighthearted and fun one. Who would have thought a local bar, past 10:00 p.m. on Sunday night, would be serving great... More

On vacation - other reviews made this a place to try! We had buffalo wing appetizer- very tasty. Reviews helped to know - have cash! We had the hot lobster roll, a pastrami - Reuben and a 1/2 pound cheeseburger. The fries were abundant. The side of sold slaw - tasty! Plentiful portion of pickles! We stopped after the lunch... Great bar food, VERY casual atmosphere and the friendliest wait staff around. Hesitant to order seafood at a bar, but the linguini with white clam sauce was best I ever had! So many clams...even my husband commented.

The pastrami Rueben sandwich is wonderful, the service is great, the drinks are tall. Try their buffalo wings!

After exploring the area and hitting a few wineries we needed FOOD! Lucky for us it was mother's day and we didn't want to wait over an hour to eat so we stopped into the Monkey Farm knowing we just wanted some bar food. We sat in the enclosed porch area and the friendly waitress took our drink order. We... More

The Monkey Farm has a lot to offer: cheap drinks, decent food, casual atmosphere, accessible location. The staff is pretty cranky and this is a place where the summer "boaters" and occasional groups of Harley-riding dentists, accountants and other monied nerds like to frequent on their inordinately expensive chrome-clad, baffle-void steel sleds. The crowd may look a little rough around... More

Leave your credit card at home—it's not honored here. Leave your specialness at home—it's not interesting here. Leave your highfalutin sensibilities at home—they'll ruin your night. I sat down at the bar with my wife. I'm 61, I'm a Presbyterian minister, I'm bored with preciousness. Just give me people being themselves and not caring about who's important or impressive or...
