Pretty nice with one caveat

Lovely dining/ bar room. Plentiful parking. Lovely waitress and good service. Beautifully presented entree. Only caveat: with this scallop dish there were only four scallops. Six would have been nice! I never understand these seemingly upscale places that decide to cheap out on ingredients. Not... read more

Nothing special about this place. With the price you pay it should be a lot better. Wasn't very tasty....best thing was the candied nuts in the salad. We went when it was dead. Sat at the bar and not once did the female brunette bartender ask how our food was or if we needed anything which was okay but was... More

Having only been to Aspen once before for a drink, I decided to try it for dinner with friends. We were not disappointed. Our waitress was knowledgeable, attentive, and right on with her recommendations. The martinis were generous for starters and the appetizers were delicious. Try the calamari. From a menu that offers something wonderful for every taste, we chose... More

We stopped lunch on our way north, We stopped based on the location off the highway and proximity to shopping nearby. We had a great lunch. The choices were very unique. I had the Grilled Cheese sandwich and my wife had the Sausage and Broccli Rabi pasta. Both meals were excellent. There were many other wonderful sounding dishes to choose... More

I was visiting Old Saybrook over Christmas and the desk clerk from the hotel I was staying at told me to go here. The restaurant is so clean and the service was wonderful. We had the New England Clam Chowder and the Lobster Bolognese, both were out of this world YUMMY! The prices were very reasonable and in a beautiful... More

Had been here once before and was totally unimpressed, but this time things seemed much improved. One of the few restaurants open on Xmas eve, Aspen was crowded and lively and the service was still very good. The calamari is served with aioli and fairly hot red peppers and was fresh and tasty. Grilled hearts of Romaine was an excellent... More

Great service and the food was excellent. I tried the cavetelli, broccoli rabe and sausage. Delicious. My friend tried the yellow fin tuna over pasta, loved it. The bread before the meal was very good with their butter/salt. Will definitely return. Prices alittle high but the only really nice restaurant in the area and its worth it. Nice portions.

Went in for a quick lunch with friends; service was just average with one of the orders wrong. Food quality was not that good...dry hamburgers with no condiments.

Good quality food in a pleasant atmosphere with good service. Selections are a little pricey. One of the better upscale restaurants in Old Saybrook

We had the most perfectly cooked scallops with wonderful couscous that makes my mouth water as I write. The staff was delightful and I can't think of a better way we could have spent our Anniversary lunch while visiting New England. If you go to Old Saybrook Aspen Restaurant is worth a visit.
