We stumbled upon this restaurant last Thursday evening and are extremely happy that we did! It was quite busy so we had a seat at the bar. The bartender was absolutely delightful! She was not only knowledgeable and efficient, but also extremely personable! She had us laughing and joking without taking over our whole dining experience. As for our meals,... More

Great fresh food from local farms. Big Eye Tuna was awsome Seared rare. Fish dishes are always great here. We always go with the specials here. My wife had the bistro steak and loved it. Lemon tart for Dessert was just right. Will be returning next time we are in town

Our recent trip to Connecticut had the perfect ending. We wish we had stumbled upon Aspen earlier in our trip. We would have gone back again. It is truly a HIDDEN gem. The food and service were spectacular. The Lobster Bolognese was to die for. All of the staff was attentive and friendly. It was a bit loud and decor... More

We went to Aspen to celebrate a birthday and it was really fantastic. The food was incredible. Seared Tuna app, duck breast and scallop entrees were delicious and we shared dessert. salted caramel gelato and flourless choc cake!

Aspen used to be a great spot in Old Saybrook. The food was delicious and well prepared--usually very innovative. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and professional. It seems as if all of that former wait staff has disappeared and been replaced by inexperienced young girls. They are very nice, but not well trained nor very attentive. The food has... More

We come here 2-3 times per year and are never disappointed. The dinning room and bar is very spacious, even when busy it is not too noisy. The service is good and the menu is imaginative and reasonably priced.

While shopping at Old Saybrook Country Barn, my dining companion and I noticed this restaurant and went in for a late lunch. The decor was contemporary, clean and appealing. The bread and butter were very good, with a sprinkle of sea salt on the butter ramekin. The Italian panini was delicious, and the accompanying French fries were thin and crispy.... More

Ate here with my wife and two old friends who live near by---they made the reservations on the hunch we would like it. Really an excellent dining experience! Extremely good food, from fresh local ingredients. Very light, so I left with a pleasantly satisfied but not overwhelmed feeling. Excellent service without waiters fawning over you. Very good wine list fairly... More

Young friends called me to rendezvous at this frequent stop for them during happy hour, featuring half off draft beer and a selection of the appetizers. The just big enough selection of brews on tap included a tasty IPA. I thoroughly enjoyed the seared tuna app and liked what I treated of my companions' short ribs and smoked bleu cheese... More
