My husband and I recently went for a late lunch to Penny Lane Pub & Restaurant. The staff was very welcoming, and despite it being 2 PM, it was pretty full with patrons. We started with fried calamari. The rings only appetizer, which I prefer, was piping hot and perfectly cooked. In addition to a marinara dipping sauce, there was... More

My husband and I had lunch here on a balmy day. They accommodated our desire to sit upstairs because of the heat of the day and though we were alone, we had attentive and prompt service. Great swordfish special and a veggie sandwich. Even the sweet potato fries were great. Will be back soon.

We just returned home from a trip to England and sampled fish and chips in many cities. Penny Lane, without exception, has the best fish, not only here but England too! The chips would be better if they were handcut and not the frozen variety, but their fish is superb!

Nice balmy night, 7:45pm wife and I decide to get something to eat before picking our son up from work at 9:00pm. We live in town, son works in town so no big deal. Get to resturant and there are tables available outside so we stand in the foyer to ask to sit outside. Girl with menus walks buy and... More

We had a double date and have been here many times before. Tonight they were short on staff hence service was slow and inefficient. We sat outside which was pleasant until the police came to assist someone who had locked himself out of his car. Our food was so so...nothing to write home about. The prime rib was fatty and... More

Do not get me wrong, we love this place and try to visit anytime we come to Connecticut. We went there last Friday night and I ordered a basic veggie burger which was tasty. My wife ordered the Asian Tuna, and it was basically tasteless, and not really well presented. As I said we have eaten here in the past,... More

Stopped in for a quick Friday night dinner. Waited approx 20 mins for a table in the upstairs dining room. Felt a little claustrophobic, would have preferred to eat in the main dining room. Food selection was ample, and everything we ordered was delicious. Service was lacking at first, however improved dramatically by the end of our meal. The dining... More

Driving around on a Saturday night and notice Penny Lane Pub, with alfresco dining. Decided to give it a try. Could not get a table outside and decided to eat inside. Atmosphere was pleasant. Staff was attentive and food was very good. My wife had "English cut Prime Rib with "Yorkshire pudding, potato and vegetable. Very tender and tasty. I... More

A big fan of clam chowder and a couple of people in my group had it as well and we all thought it was great! I have been there a few time sitting inside and outside when its nice. The inside has a quaint homey feel to it, very comfortable. They have a few tables out side on the near... More

Probably one of the most amazing grilled cheese sandwiches ive ever had! The owner always seems to be present and has a very hands on approach, his workers clearly work hard and their is a very clear mutual respect amongst the team. With that being said, suggestions were made and food was brought promptly. Delicious!! Cant wait to go back!
