Friendly, helpful staff in both the dining room and lounge area. Attentive service and pleasant atmosphere. We always see smiles when we walk in and that's a great way to start a meal! Food is a bit interesting and always served at proper temperature as well as nice presentation. We work in Old Saybrook so this has become one of... More

Several friends decided to meet up for dinner last week - since we were all traveling from far ends of the state, we chose Old Saybrook as a central location. A little online , and we chose Otter Cove Restaurant, This is a low-key, lovely Yankee-style Pub, with easy access off I-95, ample parking and a very nice menu. It... More

The restaurant has a nautical setting, very laid back with a nice menu. We had the $39 special which consisted of 2 entrees with soup or salad, and a bottle of wine. A real bargain- the meal was delicious the service friendly and competent.

This is a local restaurant with high standards for food and wine. It's got an easy-going atmosphere that the locals seem to love a lot. When I stopped in I was greeted like they knew me - which always gets things off to a good start. The food was solid and they had a nice selection of wines departing from... More

We enjoyed the service, the food, and the ambiance on a Sunday night. We were on our way back home from Lyme, just popped in here. Pleasantly surprised - had calamari for appetizer (fresh and spicy sauce), great drinks (not typical for us, but we thought we'd "splurge" and were glad we did), great entrees as well. Did not do... My mother and I were visiting the area from Virginia Beach for the Essex Steam Train & boat fall foliage tour. We wanted seafood & chanced upon the Otter Cove Restaurant. We decided to try the chalk board specials which were your choice of two entrees with a bottle of wine for $39. Mom got the sea bass over angel... More

This is one of these restaurants that can be excellent, ok, or a disaster. We've experienced all three. It was our anniversary and we usually go up to Chester (Brushmill by the Waterfall, very good and consistent) but we thought for this year for a change we'd try Otter Cove. Ambiance was excellent (as usual). The food was pretty good... More

100% dissatisfied with the I ordered the Asian chicken nachos...not good. You only get 4 small fried wontons for $10 and not tasty at all, actually quite terrible. Description should say "peanut sauce with wasabi", very spicy but not the spicy expected...should've stayed that there was wasabi in the ingredients. 100% dissatisfied :(
