After ordering drinks waited a half hour to place our order for dinner. The waitress was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. Claimed the asian nachos (some sort of fried noodle with dry chicken on top covered in wasabi--a few chips for $10) we're delicious and a little spicy. After ordering waited even longer to be served dinner. The lobster roll is... More

We found this place using our AAA book. Glad we stopped. As we were heading east from Ohio, we started looking more and more for seafood. This place had it. We ordered the seafood platter to split--and glad we did split it. It was huge! Clams, fish, shrimp, and scallops. We got sweet potato fries as well, which were great.... More

We'd already had dinner and stopped here, because my (new) wife used to come often. They really were closing things down but kept the bar open for those of us content to hang out while they put the restaurant part of things to bed. The bar tender and servers took great care of us, and the owner even stopped to... More

We were able to sit outside and loved the quiet, with the lovely water fountain. Loved the mango summer drink and the outstanding crab cake appetizer. My tuna was done perfectly as well. Service was a bit shaky, but we were in no rush.

My husband and I went to lunch at Otter Cove. We have been wanting to try it, and it is only open for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays. We arrived around 2PM, and very few people were there. Seated promptly, we ordered wine and appetizers. My husband's oysters were fine. I ordered "firecracker calamari". Nowhere did the menu describe the... More

We tried Otter Cove as a change from my parents' usual haunts and we were all happy we did. Dad decided the calamari (an appetizer) was the best in Old Saybrook, they even toned down the spiciness for him. I had the mussels (another appetizer) and not only was it a satisfying mid-day meal but the broth was delicious. Salad... More

Shared a meal with my daughters future in-laws, and had a wonderful time. The service was friendly, pleasant and relaxed. I had a Bloody Mary and could easily say it was the best I ever had. The others at the table agreed their drinks were also wonderful. We started the meal with oysters, a variety, which were excellent. Three of... More

We have eaten at Otter Cove many times, but this may be the last. We waited at our table 15 minutes before our presence was acknowledged. As we Began our dinner we ordered a second bottle of wine; it finally arrived as we finished dinner. We had to ask three times for water refills. Even getting our processed bill back... More

This was our second time taking advantage of the midweek special - two dinners and a bottle of wine for $39.00. The salads were great - my wife and I love the dressing. The dinners were fantastic! I had the pork chop and my wife had the ravioli. Both were very gourmet and delicious. The wine was pretty good too!... More

We had a group dinner here recently. It was a Thursday night and the restaurant was well-occupied. We started out with appetizers- the flatbread appetizers were especially good. I had the Garden Salmon, which was cooked perfectly and served with a large variety of well-prepared veggie sides, but a small helping of a starch might have been nice. My wife... More
