I took my Mom out for a nice lunch today and we were both very impressed with Alforno! The homemade ranch dressing on my wedge salad was delish, as was my homemade tagliatelle with pistachio sausage in a light butter sauce - INCREDIBLE! Finished it all off with the dense but delicious flourless gluten free chocolate torte with whipped cream... More

Extremely disappointed in the veal parmagiana. There was an overpowering taste which smacked of reused cooking oil that the tomato sauce could not disguise. Really awful. The walnut Gorgonzola salad with grilled chicken was very tasty but it was extremely overpriced at $ 17.00. At that price, a dinner sized portion was expected. What we received was a side salad... I have been to this restaurant around 10 times in the last few years. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is nice and the service is pleasant. You really can't ask for more in a dining experience.

Great Italian food along the shoreline. Very popular restaurant with many menu items, specials and good seating. High quality food at high value prices.

If you're down the CT shore in the Old Saybrook/Westbrook area and feel like Italian food then this is the place to stop. This is a warm and inviting restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. We were lucky enough to have Claude as our wait person and Claude knows what's best to eat as well as being a very attentive server.... More

After reading that Alforno's won best northern Italian food in our local shoreline paper we decided to try it out on a Saturday night. The restaurant is located at the end of a strip shopping center, but once entered, the ambience is modern and bright with "Miro-like" panels on the wall. The tables at Alforno's are tightly packed in and... More

The outside does not do justice to what is inside. I am Italian so I would be more critical than most I thought the food was excellent. I ordered the pizza. It was great I wanted the pasta but the portions were small for a large size of spaghetti and priced at 19.50. They needto give larger portions and not... More

Love garlic? Love fresh seafood, pasta and bread? Alforno not only has some of the best pizza on the shoreline, their entrees certainly are deliciously Italian. Small, intimate setting, perfect for a date nite!

We went with another couple and we haven't been here in years. Could be new owners. The olives and bread served first delicious. I had the veal francaise with penne, my husband had chicken parmasean and one of our friends had the hanger steak. Tender. The veal was exquisite. Our other friend had the pasta and clams and very good.... More
