Excellent interesting food served in a relaxed but efficient manner. Soups and apps are always delicious. I have been here five or six times with my wife. Like dining in an old fashioned house wit huge fireplace. Main meals are priced reasonably. We leave each time saying glad we came.

Disclaimer: this review is based on takeout, perhaps the popularity of this restaurant is based on the atmosphere and staff. I am always leery when Thai food is served with lemon and not lime, my first clue. The "pho" was greasy mystery meat, broth, overcooked noodles and a few fried basil leaves. The pad thai had the same greasy mouth... More

The setting is a little odd: Saigon City is situated in a two hundred year old Colonial house that is loaded with non-Asian charm. The service is impeccable and pleasant. Drinks, wine, and beer are all good. The menu has very good Vietnamese and Thai food--solid pad thai, very good curries, some excellent seafood. All in all Saigon City is... More

Had a terrific dinner here. All of the food was great. Strange decor: colonial house with shabby kitschy decor.

We are from the Hartford area where the Asian community is huge and the restaurants are very competitive resulting some excellent food. I am particularly interested in Vietnamese Food (which is practically non existent on the shoreline). We have been to Saigon City a number of times, mainly because we love to eat Vietnamese food because we love it and... More

Saigon City is located in an beautiful old building. The dining area has exposed beams and old wooden floors. There are beautiful pictures of Vietnam and Vietnamese artwork adorning the walls. The menu is extensive for dinner, although somewhat limited at lunch time, with all types of soups, salads, appetizers, and main dishes containing beef, poultry, pork, and seafood. They... More

This restaurant offers a good atmosphere for Asian food, and lots of choices -- mainly Thai; good salads and specialty dishes. Be sure to ask about spice levels. They were able to make most dishes without hot spices. There's a Gelato shop next door that's run by the same management.

Saigon City resides in a home built in 1710. The exposed beams, wide-plank wood floors and fireplaces add cozy touches. The layout rambles, due to following the footprint of the 300 year old home; the parlor has become the main dining room, the living room is now a bright and airy bar/sitting area, there is also an ice cream take-out... Good menu variety, decent meal, service a little slow, smells a little stale in the dining area - this may be due to the age of this old home.

This is a place that is raved about allot from friends but we found it to be average. The food was good, tasty and exactly what we thought. No wow factor. Small lunch menu. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Would go again to see the dinner menu
