Good food

The food was very good. The menu is laid out in an unusual way- sorted by the type of meat in the dish. I expected Pho to be a prominent menu item but we had to hunt for it. When we found it, we ordered it and it was good. The Pad Thai was excellent. The vegetarian pancake was delicious.... read more

Because my wife and I had a hankering for Thai we decided to give Saigon City a try. Although it was a little unusual to find a Vietnamese and Thai restaurant in an old colonial house, the restaurant interior was very nice. The wait staff was very attentive and very helpful. The food was very good, and reasonably priced. First... More

My boyfriend and I ate a delicious dinner that we couldn't find fault with at Saigon City. As appetizers we had summer rolls and a small beef pho, and then for dinner we had curries, beef for him and shrimp for me. Each dish had fresh and tasty ingredients, lots of complex flavors, and was served promptly and hot. We... More

This happens to be one of my favorite places . It reminds me of a whimsical romantic villa . The outside has figurines and carefully placed lighting and flowers that make it quite inviting when you first arrive . Entering you are greeted by Diane who greets you with her lovely smile . Bernadette and Wu work hard to create... More

Cute little place. Food is acceptable, not fantastic. Had the PHO which should be noodles broth veggies on side plus maybe the rare beef. This came with everything under the sun. The curry dishes were good. Came with a family of 5. Third visit..

Went out late on a Friday night. Seated right away, our drinks took time but were tasty (but a little weak). Food was quick and delicious. Only complaint was that it was extremely hot & humid inside. Made it a little difficult to fully enjoy food. Loved the lemongrass chicken. Yum!

Excellent interesting food served in a relaxed but efficient manner. Soups and apps are always delicious. I have been here five or six times with my wife. Like dining in an old fashioned house wit huge fireplace. Main meals are priced reasonably. We leave each time saying glad we came.

Disclaimer: this review is based on takeout, perhaps the popularity of this restaurant is based on the atmosphere and staff. I am always leery when Thai food is served with lemon and not lime, my first clue. The "pho" was greasy mystery meat, broth, overcooked noodles and a few fried basil leaves. The pad thai had the same greasy mouth... More

The setting is a little odd: Saigon City is situated in a two hundred year old Colonial house that is loaded with non-Asian charm. The service is impeccable and pleasant. Drinks, wine, and beer are all good. The menu has very good Vietnamese and Thai food--solid pad thai, very good curries, some excellent seafood. All in all Saigon City is... More
