Our server was Marta, she has been there for some time, and she is an excellent waitress. We all enjoyed our entrees. My hash omelet was perfect. Many healthy choices on the menu. Oatmeal with fruit was tasty. Comfortable place to have breakfast. they could boost up the coffee, make it stronger.

We had a great breakfast made with fresh ingredients at a fair price. It has a nice decor and if you go on a Saturday morning, you can then visit the Farmers Market out in the parking lot.

The first time we visited the cafe the service was first class! The food was nice and as expected, an added bonus that they catered for my dietary requirements. The paleo pancakes and waffles are very nice! Our server was attentive, nothing a bother and he was fun and cheery. Our next visit we we're left waiting for menus and... More

Right on the main street Old Saybrook and a very affordable option form a healthy meal. We had the BLT which came with a choice of sides such as coke slaw, chips or carrot sticks & dip. This is a cute little place that also serves coffees & teas & serves breakfast all day long. We are from NC and... More

We have eaten here many times before . It has always been one of my wife's favorites. However, the cooking seems to have gone downhill . My wife had the French toast with pecans and syrup. She thought it was very good and they gave you a ton of pecans. I had the poached eggs on an English muffin with... More

On vacation - reviews made this a place to check out. Steady flow of customers - waitresses very friendly and prompt. Variety made it hard to choose. I did settle on a scrambled eggs with an avocado & spinach, side of fresh fruit and carrot sticks. Needless to say - I left very full and satisfied with my choice

The Paperback Cafe in Old Saybrook is a wonderful place for breakfast, brunch and/or lunch. It offers a comfortable dining area surrounded by windows looking out on Old Saybrook's pretty Main Street, and a delighfully varied menu - at reasonable prices - ranging from blueberry waffles and a yougurt parfait to wraps and sandwiches and much more. (The pancakes were... More

Nice menu with really good choices of breads for sandwiches. Service can be extremely slow even if café is not busy and you order something simple.

Really delicious breakfast with the usual eggs, meat and potatoes, then they add flavors and salsas that wake up the taste buds. The service was friendly and responsive, the coffee very good. It's worth the extra few bucks a piece to enjoy such a well presented meal.
