Right on the main street Old Saybrook and a very affordable option form a healthy meal. We had the BLT which came with a choice of sides such as coke slaw, chips or carrot sticks & dip. This is a cute little place that also serves coffees & teas & serves breakfast all day long. We are from NC and... More

We have eaten here many times before . It has always been one of my wife's favorites. However, the cooking seems to have gone downhill . My wife had the French toast with pecans and syrup. She thought it was very good and they gave you a ton of pecans. I had the poached eggs on an English muffin with... More

On vacation - reviews made this a place to check out. Steady flow of customers - waitresses very friendly and prompt. Variety made it hard to choose. I did settle on a scrambled eggs with an avocado & spinach, side of fresh fruit and carrot sticks. Needless to say - I left very full and satisfied with my choice

The Paperback Cafe in Old Saybrook is a wonderful place for breakfast, brunch and/or lunch. (The pancakes were... More

Nice menu with really good choices of breads for sandwiches. Service can be extremely slow even if café is not busy and you order something simple.

Really delicious breakfast with the usual eggs, meat and potatoes, then they add flavors and salsas that wake up the taste buds. The service was friendly and responsive, the coffee very good. It's worth the extra few bucks a piece to enjoy such a well presented meal.

When in the vicinity of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, a stop at the Paperback Cafe for breakfast or lunch is a must. This visit, I enjoyed a tuna fish salad sandwich and chicken, vegetable, and rice soup...delicious. Our waitress, Fatima, served with cordiality and efficiency. Looking forward to our next opportunity to savor the food at the Paperback Cafe.

Regulars and visitors alike can be assured of a delicious meal and outstanding service at the Paperback Cafe. The new manager wisely retained cooking and serving staff while tweaking the menu with new offerings. I devoured the stuffed pepper and sampled my wife's pita bread with trout - also delicious. Don't pass up the opportunity to eat at the Paperback... More
