We haven't tried an evening meal yet, but we love this cafe for great coffee, super breakfasts and lunches with lots of healthy and fresh alternatives for vegetarians and others looking for healthier choices. I believe it also has a couple decadent bakery treats. We always get a great casual meal with generous servings and friendly, highly competent service.

It has become a tradition for us to have breakfast here when we travel to Old Saybrook. It has a nice atmosphere and offers breakfast entrees that are more creative than scrambled eggs & toast. Try this place out for breakfast!

I had eggs over easy and fruit and they were just the way I like them. My granddaughter had a bagel with ham and cheese and home fries and loved every last bit of it. She can be picky, but this was right up her alley.

Overall the Paperback has a very good and creative menu. Breakfast and lunch specials are always a hit. Soft music on some evenings and weekend mornings fill this dining room quickly. Outside seating in good weather.

My husband and I stopped here on a Sunday morning, as it was about halfway to our day trip destination. He enjoyed (and completely finished), the Big Breakfast, eggs cooked to order, bacon, toast, shredded potatoes (hash browns). I had a cheese omelette, hash browns and toast. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Coffee, including decaf, was good and refills... More

Great for Breakfast and a good coffee. Sundays they often have a trio of entertainment. A grilled morning glory muffin, some scrambled eggs and a fab. coffee. Set for the day!
