Small, cozy , Busy place!

Met 5 other friends here for late breakfast/ early lunch around 11 am on a Saturday. Staff was very accommodating to our group. I tend to eat vegan as well as one other friend. would have enjoyed more vegan options on the menu. My veggie pita sandwich was delicious and served with healthy cut... read more

The gluten-free pancakes were delicious! We dined for brunch on a Sunday and were quite pleased with the food, as well as the atmosphere. They had a small, live jazz band playing while we ate. The restaurant is on the small side, but comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the kitchen is accommodating. There is a variety of... More

Both standard breakfast and lunch fare as well as some of their own personal creations if you're feeling out-of-the-box. You won't be disappointed in the chicken salad. And the omelettes are very very good. They have a Paleo menu as well, some of them are their own creations. Lots of coffee options, like lattes, cappuccinos, and the like. No alcohol.... More

We had a nice breakfast here. The restaurant is clean and nicely laid out. The menu had a nice number of selections, including a paleo menu if you're into that sort of thing. My friend had the paleo pancakes (made with almond flour) which she said were very good, and came with sides of sausage and fruit. I had the... More

I used to go regularly to the Paperback for lunch and breakfast and the food was always good. Not so since the new owners took over. It just is not the same quality that it used to be. The bakery counter is almost always just about empty....they used to carry wonderful baked goods. Also the restaurant just doesn't feel clean.

I've been in twice recently after a long period away. They've got some great breakfast items and added Paleo diet options to their menu. Most recently I had the chicken salad which was excellent.

Ordered: glass of milk, short stack of buttermilk pancakes, hash browns This was my second visit to the Paperback Cafe. I came with my mother, grandmother, and sister. It was crowded, but service was good and relatively quick. There was a band playing jazz music, which my grandmother didn't like. I liked it, although it was a little too loud... More

My husband and I have taken the Ferry from Long Island to New London several times over the past two years heading to various points North and we stumbled onto a review of Paperback when we were staying the area a while back. WE ALWAYS DRIVE OUT OF OUR WAY now just for the pancakes. The friendly service and very... More

The food is very good and priced just right. I have been to the Paperback many times and really love the breakfast choices. The service is quite good considering how packed the place can be on weekends.

stale croissant £2; lukewarm, small coffee £2.50 but atmosphere is nice if you can get past hundreds of books at the entrance....otherwise cafe panorama down the road, large coffee + fresh croissant - £3
