Description: Fresh Salt is located in the Saybrook Point Inn. Our tables overlook the waters of the Connecticut River where the fresh river meets the salt of the sound. It's a treasured and historic spot. In nature the most vibrant life happens where systems meet. These places are rich in life, and our restaurant reflects that lively diversity. We have a raw bar, a seasonally varied menu, and offer as much as we can from the farms, brewers, cheese makes and other food enterprises that are springing up around our region. Fresh Salt delivers a dining experience that's comfortable and relaxed. Our staff is here to be of service to you, our kitchen stands ready with fresh ingredients, a deep wine cellar and carefully crafted fusions of foods and beverages that bring tastes together in delicious and new ways. We have tables by the fire, at the bar, and in season offer seating outdoors on the Fresh Salt Terrace.

I was alone and did not have a reservation. The Manager that evening was a wonderful young man that found me an excellent spot to sit. The setting, view and atmosphere was so relaxing!! I had a CT Lobster roll that was fantastic and reasonably priced. The servers made me feel very comfortable, even though I was dining alone. I... More

Went for the first time with friends and sat at the only 6 person table on the deck as we lucked out on a beautiful Saturday night. We sampled a wide variety of food and drinks and were not disappointed. Portions were good and well prepared. Our server bent over backwards to keep us satisfied. Didn't have the lobster roll... One of the very best restaurants within a 30 mile radius. The restaurant is located at a beautiful marina at the mouth of the CT river. All views from the deck eating area provide spectacular boat and water scenes. We would definitely advise eating on the deck. The atmosophere is casual but elegant. All the food courses we had, from... More

Dined at Fresh Salt in the Old Saybrook Inn this past Monday night to celebrate a 70th birthday. View is beautiful overlooking the marina. Server was prompt, efficient, and helpful with menu suggestions. My entree was a moist, succulent apricot glazed pork chop with organic mini carrots and onion confit. Both wives had the swordfish over risotto, which was cooked perfectly and portioned... More

Sat on deck overlooking harbor. Great setting. Service was prompt and very courteous. We were there for a late lunch so not too busy. Food was very good with generous portions. CT lobster roll was decadent. Had several kids with us and they were happy, though not a very broad kid selection on menu.

My husband and I had a few meals including afternoon snack, dinner and a couple of breakfasts at Fresh Salt and enjoyed every one of them. If there had been a 4 1/2 star I would have given it. The food was always good and often very good. The décor and location of the restaurant surrounded by a marina with... More

Pretty good meal at Fresh Salt, went there for lunch after a spa day. I would say the food was just above average, nothing to write home about. The view is nice, but if you want lunch with a view, Waters Edge in Westbrook is prettier and they have more outdoor seating with direct ocean views. I made a reservation... More

My wife and I had dinner there last Friday night. We're from out of town, found it online. Called for a reservation mid afternoon, they were booked but the hostess said come early if you can (6ish) and she would try to get us seated or we could eat in the bar. Place was great, casual. We sat in the... More

Our first time at Fresh Salt in Old Saybrook. The whole experience was great, from making reservations, honoring special request for this special evening, service, and the food was excellent. We had an all fish night including appitizers and entree. Everything was fresh, interestingly spiced and generous portions. Thank you for making this a perfect evening out.
