Description: Fresh Salt is located in the Saybrook Point Inn. Our tables overlook the waters of the Connecticut River where the fresh river meets the salt of the sound. It's a treasured and historic spot. In nature the most vibrant life happens where systems meet. These places are rich in life, and our restaurant reflects that lively diversity. We have a raw bar, a seasonally varied menu, and offer as much as we can from the farms, brewers, cheese makes and other food enterprises that are springing up around our region. Fresh Salt delivers a dining experience that's comfortable and relaxed. Our staff is here to be of service to you, our kitchen stands ready with fresh ingredients, a deep wine cellar and carefully crafted fusions of foods and beverages that bring tastes together in delicious and new ways. We have tables by the fire, at the bar, and in season offer seating outdoors on the Fresh Salt Terrace.

Staying for 2 nights at the Saybrook Inn we had 3 meals at Fresh Salt, Sunday Brunch, take out Sunday dinner, and Monday breakfast. We arrived for brunch just prior to turnover to find a very harried hostess. We were sat on time but had to stand by a table as all available tables were unbussed. Coffee service was slow... More

Had lunch with a friend on a Monday before Labor Day. Fresh Salt had been my go-to lunch spot for miles. Our kale salads were missing the walnuts and had a very few pieces of beets and just 2 dried cranberries. If there was a dressing, it wasn't evident. The kale was bland, no taste at all, ditto the beets.... More

My wife and I returned to Fresh Salt, this time with an out of town guest. We chose Fresh Salt because our guest knows and appreciates fine food. We again ordered the Tuna Salad Nicoise and it was great as the last time. Our guest ordered the Salmon with Risotto and raved about it through out the meal. Here is... More

I've been twice and both times have been impressed by the quality and freshness of the seafood. My dad ordered a lobster and was very happy. My vegetarian mom was able to get seaweed salad (wakame) and a ravioli dish served without the guanciacle. And I had the sea scallops, cooked to perfection, with sides of the day and a... More

My wife and I like this restaurant very much. The food is good and the atmosphere and location are very nice. We always have good food and our favorite bartender is there. However, we had an issue recently with the drinks. We recently went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Being a Bourbon drinker, she ordered a Woodford Reserve on the... More

The entrees were delicious and seemed reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The fresh-squeezed oj, coffee and tea were overpriced, however. A scone was overpriced at $5.95 as well.

I brought a friend here for lunch who hadn't been around the area for the last few years. Made a reservation and glad I did as it was a happening. People were walking the marina, a wedding was going on next door and the only way I knew it was the photographers were on the adjacent terrace taking pictures of... More

We hadn't been here in years, and returned on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in July. The view is spectacular, right on the water. Given it was a Saturday, we figured there would be a wait for dinner. After putting our name in with the hostess, we walked around the marina and took in the view of the beautiful boats, birds,... More

We recently ate at Fresh Salt in Old Saybrook, Ct and had a wonderful dinner. Their clam chowder was to die for - it was absolutely delicious. The best I ever tasted! Can't say enough! My husband had the whole lobster with warmed butter; he did not have to even tell me he loved it as it was so easy... More

Was last at the Saybrook Point Inn 18 years on the first date with my now wife. Although the restaurant has changed, the food remained as top notch as it ever was. The salads were sourced local as was the seafood we had which was perfect. The view on the patio was nice even if a storm was brewing .... More
