Having just finished a round of mini-golf and looking for a place to eat we were enticed by the smells coming from the kitchen along with a 10% savings (from playing golf). Since all of us were Thai fans and have enjoyed their other location, we stayed here. The first sign of trouble began when I ordered a Thai beer... More

My review is limited, since I have only been here for lunch - which is great! A nice selection at very good prices, with your choice of meat, seafood, tofu, or vegetarian. Soup (regular or spicy) or salad, entree, desert. Staff is all Thai. Waitresses wear beautiful native dress. A fairly simple place, authentic, but not upscale or super attractive.... More

I had a craving for curry the other day and ordered take out from here, and was not disappointed, it was as good as I remembered, from having it before. I ordered the green curry lunch special with pork (although you can get any meat), which comes with jasmine rice, a choice of their noodle soup or salad, and they... More

Hidden from view need not escape your patronage. I have long enjoyed the Thai food at SOM SIAM just off the Guilford CT Green. The signage is right there as you walk the side walk. But a friend recently invited me to their other location in Old Saybrook... Easy to find, but off the main travel roads that keep some... More

We've been here many times but less and less over the last few years. Some dishes are excellent while others are dull. spicing varies by who's in the kitchen, but my major issue has been their sequencing. On 2 more recent trips my wife was served her appetizers and nearly finished her main course before I received my appetizer... and... More

Tucked away in an odd building hidden from a main intersection Som Siam provides decent Thai food that never quite rises to a level of excellence. Their Pad Thai is probably my favorite thing on the menu--basic, reliable, tasty. Overall most dishes are fine, just not amazing. I don't think I've ever eaten anything here I didn't like; I just... We love Som Siam! Both locations are great for different reasons. The Guilford location has a little more of an intimate atmosphere and is fantastic for romantic dates or quiet one-on-one lunches. The Saybrook location is great for larger parties or to bring the kids. Food in both location is the best Thai I have had locally. Love! Love! Love!... More

it's nice to find a good thai restaurant in a small town. this one, with pop on the floor and mom in the kitchen, was lovely - nicely decorated, good menu, and all dishes were delicious. complimentary appetizer and deserts were a treat

Great atmosphere and food! Portions were generous and very nicely presented! Great tasting, some of the best thai ive had! Prices were very affordable. Only negative is a very loud rail line that runs behind it but isnt obtrusively loud...easily drowned out by good conversation. Very nice mini golf course owned by the restaurant in the back...kind of odd but... More

My boyfriend came across this place because they have a mini golf course next to the restaurant. So we went for an early dinner (beat the crowd!) and a round of mini golf. To start, I was really looking for a mixed drink (a mai tai or something), but they had no cocktail menu, which led me to believe they... More
