We have been going up to the Cape for years and have always stopped in Old Saybrook, CT to take a break on the way up to the Cape and on the way back from the Cape...we used to stop at Pat's Country Kitchen however we found they had closed and the new restaurant is a Mexican Food establishment...NOT...!!! I ordered food to go from JAMSS today based on the good reviews and ended up not even eating it all and concerned for my health. As I was about to put one of the last bites of their raved about fruit bowl into my mouth, I noticed a very visible green, fuzzy mold growth on the strawberry slice resting... More

I run an employee committee that is responsible for special functions one of which is a Christmas breakfast. We employed jamss for our 2012 breakfast and it was fantastic. Eggs were perfect, homemade sausage patties bacon bagels and muffins, plenty of good food for 100 people. The next year a no brainer after our first experience. We were very disappointed.... More

How can an eating establishment have no restroom? This is a real problem. You cannot even wash your hands before eating. Friendly staff though.

The reason this place is usually crowded is the exceptional quality of the breakfasts. Best for miles around!

Little restaurant in a strip mall that is always packed. Huge pancakes and lots of great breakfast selections. The muffins are to die for. The only problem is getting a seat.

Great breakfast - style in food with quality ingredients. A bit crowded with average service. No rest room. Nice food presentation made to order.

I threw the calorie-counting out for this place. I went because of reviews I read here. I had a ham, swiss and avocado omelette and English muffin -- really yummy -- but the killer was the house version of something called a donut muffin, rolled in butter, sugar and cinnamon. Come on. Did they know I was coming? I can... More

Went for lunch. Be sure to stop at a restroom before you go as theirs has been out of order (at least for customers). They don't think this is too crucial as their food is very good. Service with a smile.....no way, rather service with a frown. Again, food was very good.....but they need to pay as much attention to... More

My husband and I traveled to CT for some prime leaf peeping (beginning with “Fall Foliage Tour...River Rambles Along Route 9) in addition to visiting some charming little towns, such as Old Saybrook. I compiled recommendations from fellow T.A. contributors and came up with three options for lunch in Old Saybrook. When we first arrived at J.A.M.M.S. location in a... More
