Wonderful views!

I have not been here for a few years due to the summer crowds, but got a chance to visit on a very hot Monday evening. We were greeted by friendly hostesses and seated immediately outside, because they have tables for two. The outside patio is a delight, but they really could use some fans. Once... read more

WOW Great view from the 'back porch' of the River and the moveable bridge, Delicious food and great portion sizes. Great wait staff and certainly worth the time and money. Drinks were a little pricy if I recall correctly but none the less, well satisfied.

Went here on a Thursday for dinner and were promptly greeted and provided a seat on the porch overlooking the river. Had the mussels to start, there was plenty to share for the 2 of us, tasty but small mussels, I had the lobster roll which was served with fries & cole slaw -lots of claw meat....Yummy. Cant beat the... More

6 of us went here for a celebratory dinner-July 13/15. Over all not great. The crab cakes(ordered by two of us) were mostly bread with little or no real crab meat.Taste was flat. Salad that came with it was warm and wilted. The trout was good but the rice that came with it was not warm. The clam strips were... More

The Back Porch Restaurant - Old Saybrook, CT - 7/5/2015 The Summer is here folks! And what better way to spend a sunday afternoon than out on the patio somewhere out by the water? Well wonder no more! We had just heard about The Back Porch from a friend when we decided to try them out. I looked on their... More

Visted this restaurant on July 6th for lunch. We started with the mussels, very tasty, lots of garlic and big pieces of crusty bread to soak up the juices. As we were pondering our entree,we saw a tuna wrap go by. It was very large. Since it was so large we decided to split a wrap. The Turkey Burger BKT... More

Eat inside for its elegant ambiance or outside for a view of the Connecticut River and passing boats. Food is excellent, especially the crab cake salad. Friendly and efficient wait staff.

Stopped in here tonight to see a family members band play. We were not eating but met up with some family who had already eaten. They said the food was awful. Fish and chips were overpriced and literally a triangular piece of prepackaged frozen fish. Waiter comes over and we order drinks and he tries to tell us that usually... More

Great food! Great atmosphere! Service was okay but it could have been because it was Friday afternoon during a busy weekend. Awesome band but too loud so we went inside. Will definitely go back!

First, let me start with the view, this restaurant is attached to a marina and has lots of boats and water to look at. The service is great, our server Teressa was really wonderful and tried to make sure our lunch was just lovely. The mussels were very tasty (just a bit overcooked) and the Italian toast dipped into the... More
