Great Potential and Excellent Food

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and wanted to go somewhere special. This is our first time back to this restaurant since they renovated it. It looks great. There was a large party going on so I had to park across the street. We had made reservations well in advance, but upon... read more

Stopped in for dinner on Saturday just as they were opening. Got the last available table. Started off with cocktails. Then clam chowder for hubby and shrimp and corn bisque for me. Both delicious. He ordered the hanger steak and frites. I had the local burger and hand cut fries. Ordered it med-rare but was done medium. Still very good.... More

You always have to give a restaurant another chance...maybe they were having a bad hair day. I am so glad I returned to the Old Lyme Inn for a fabulous luncheon. The Old Lyme Inn is an icon of this shoreline community. The food from Chef Nick and the service from Susan was perfection. I am raving about the Butternut... More

We had a lovely dinner in the bar recently. Enjoyed veal chop milanese, nicely prepared, if lacking a little flavor. Service was lack luster...lacking attention to detail. Nevertheless, we will return for the charm and atmosphere. Warm enough lately to sit on the beautiful patio under the stars.

We held a small family reunion lunch (16 people) at the Old Lyme Inn. The Inn was beautiful, and the food and service were outstanding. The Inn worked with me in the weeks leading up to the reunion to set a menu, arrange a cake, and arrange seating. They gave us a private room on the ground floor that was... More

I highly recommend the Old Lyme Inn, at which my daughter and I (Mother of the Groom) held a Bridal Shower brunch on May 2, 2015 for twenty-two people. My recommendation is based on: - Elegant overall impression: The Inn is beautifully appointed in classic New England style with high end touches (e.g., wall mural in the lobby, traditional furnishings,... The Old Lyme Inn has been through management and culinary changes, and finally I can say, the food the staff and the service are just right. The menu is varied, the staff is ready to answer questions and make suggestions and the food Is delicious. Jessie, the chef from Jessie's is now in charge and you can tell. The salads... More
