You might miss a gem!

Looking from the outside (or even the inside), if you hadn't heard about their delicious grinders, you might pass this place up -- that would be a mistake! We just happened to be in the area and needed lunch, so we stopped in -- the outside is unassuming and the inside kind of reminds me of a... read more

D''Elia's Bakery and Grinder Shop probably started in the 20s. It was one of the first in the area to sell grinders. A grinder, sometimes call a hero, sub, or torpedo sandwich in other parts of the country, is a meal in itself. The basic D'Elia's grinder is the bread split down the middle, lightly oiled. with cooked salami, provolone... More

Their bread is nice and soft and everything always tastes super fresh! The tuna and chicken salad is the best (finely chopped). Don't be deceived by the less than appealing location! The customer service is also fantastic! A must try!

I liked the fact that the owner has run his business for 20 plus years. But every time my family and I ate there we would get very ill.

D’Elia’s meatball grinders with roasted peppers are a very special treat that I have been enjoying for 50 years. Who knows how long it will carry, so don’t waste a moment and find this hole in the wall place with two tables. The grandson of the founders have stayed the course. The décor is not retro. It is original! Step... More

If you want a great, freshly made grinder this is the place to go. The bread is always fresh and delicious. The employees are very friendly. I live nearby and whenever I mention that I've eaten there, someone almost always says, " I love that place". It really is a local favorite.

A "grinder" is a local variation on the sub. A truly great grinder must have great bread, and D'Elia makes there own breads, including grinder rolls. The meats must be fresh, and that requires the large turnover that D'Elia's has. Shredded lettuce, choice of cheeses, etc. A great grinder. While most of the retail business is takeout, there are two... More
