Opened in 1996, the original Barcelona, South Norwalk, has grown from a tiny tapas bar seating 30 to a 140-seat restaurant with two sophisticated, beautiful dining rooms and an outdoor patio. The original 40-foot-long, hand-carved walnut bar is still there, as are the young and young-at-heart who populate South Norwalk in the evenings. SoNo Barcelona showcases the old brick and raw steel of the former factory building it inhabits. It's a touch of SoHo in SoNo, with the food and flavors of the Ramblas.

Wonderful seasonal selection of tapas crafted by the in-house chef. Don't miss the wine specials on Sunday and get on their mailing list for email updates about special events. Music on Thursday evenings is a great way to relax with a glass of Albareno and friends. Atmosphere is cozy, even in the large rooms- but the bar can get a... More

Last night was my fourth time eating/drinking at Barcelona and I must say that each visit has been better than the last! The food on our most recent trip was superb as always -- do NOT forget to try the crispy brussels sprouts, braised short ribs, or jamon & chicken croquettes. Also take advantage of their phenomenal seasonal menu choices,... More

If you are looking for a great wine menu and fantastic tapas, this is your place. The menu changes often to best use seasonal ingredients and the wines are varied and tasty.

With a wind chill of minus 12 F, my wife and I found Barcelona to be a warm and friendly oasis out of the weather. Featuring a tapas format, each plate allowed for 3-4 servings. Good variety, very tasty and all outdone by an engaging and informed wait staff. Only "4" triggered by amped up band in adjoining bar made... More

If you don't want to wait for paella, you can pre-order, which we did. The appetizers are diverse and very interesting. The paella was as consistently good, as it always is. Very enjoyable

Great vibe, friendly service. A bit of a meat market on Fri and Sat nights in the bar, but generally we really enjoy date night here. Can't go wrong with the wine list.

Service keeps me coming back. The quality of food keeps me ordering. Management is always present and engaged. Busy but the noise is well managed. You can enjoy conversation with friends.

We eat here at least once a month with a group of friends. We love the Sangria and they keep them coming! The specials they have on the bottles of wine are a nice touch to try something you maybe wouldn't due to the price but the half price specials make it worth trying. Love that the menu changes with... More
