Campy place, especially fun with your kids, that has been serving perfect hot dogs for the twenty five years I've been going there. Choice of fried or grilled dogs (I always go with grilled), there are plenty of other menu options, too. Shakes, fries, onion rings, burgers, etc, there are few better places for a quick, inexpensive lunch.

First, I'd like to mention that I went to Swanky Franks in October 2012, but I could only put October 2013. With that settled, Swanky's has great hot dogs, shakes, burgers, and fries. The menus are posted on the upper walls of the seating area. They also have a little bar that overlooks the kitchen. They have plenty of condiments... More

Swanky Franks has been serving dogs, burgers and fries for decades. The search for a decent dog in Fairfield County has been difficult. They serve Boars Head and offer hot dogs, grilled dogs, Swanky red hots, a variety of burgers and sandwiches, and fried seafood. A basic dog is $3.50. I sat at the counter and ordered a single dog... My husband grew up in Norwalk and had been at this place many times. We finally were down in that area and decided to stop. It's a very small place, not much to look at but the food was incredibly fast and quite good. We got a few grilled hots dogs one with kraut and another will grilled onions and... More

Living in the area for 20 years, Swanky is an institution. A bit dumpy but that is what gives it character. A group of us went for lunch recently. The dogs were just okay. Nothing special. The fries were greasy and soggy. The grease has not been changed and the fries were not down long enough. Nothing special. I would... More

My father and I go here every Columbus Day, and the food is delicious, especially the burgers. The appearance and atmosphere inside are just average. Service is sometimes snooty, but only at the beginning. Average experience. Limited parking.

I made the mistake of stopping here because I saw it when I was getting off the Highway for Lunch. No Atmosphere but who cares if the food is great. The hamburger was flatter than a pancake I mean paper thin, yeasty rolls to fill you up instead of meat. The hot dog had no flavor, definitely not a Hummel.... More

This is a great place to bring young children. Your child will even get his/her picture taken for the wall. My 3 year old LOVES finding her pic! Milkshakes are outstanding! My dad used to come here when he was a kid and Swanky Frank's is still around They must be do SOMETHING right!

While this certainly isn't "fine dining" in the true meaning of the word, the burgers and fries are always fresh, and are served quickly and with a smile. Good "bang for your buck", just remember you might need to exercise after your meal, you may want seconds!

Swanky Franks serve good quality hot dogs, split and grilled but they are too skinny for the size of the bun. If the bun were proportionate it would have been delicious. Milkshakes are small but very good. WEbsite out of date on menu and pricing.
