Best Tzatziki I've Ever Had

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and the food was fantastic!! The flavors, wine, and entree selections are all very authentic. Went with high hopes, but will not be back. Had Greek salad and tzatziki with pita (you had to pay extra for the few pieces of pita) for starters. Then ordered gyro platter which had tomatoes, more tzatziki and pita, etc. --waitress should have said platter is redundant to what you have already had and suggested different entree choices. Ambrosia's... More

this was set up by a friend , good call Jason , don't pass this place by I think we tried everything on the menu. It just came out . Service good decor is blue table clothes but family casual. Great Greek wine list. Beans , beets I could eat everyday. Flaming cheese brought me back to greektown. Scrod and... More

Everything we ordered was awesome. Their feta cheese is soooo good, and their baklava was the best I've ever had. Their ingredients are really high quality but still have entrees at a fair price. The service was wonderful..we will definitely be back! The only suggestion I have is that the ambiance could be a bit better. It's completely fine, it's... More

Four of us met at Pontos for dinner before a movie. We were the first there, but the place was filled within an hour. Delicious, every single meal. Three of us had the avgolemono, one had 1/2 a Greek salad. The soup was a perfect amount and incredibly good; the salad was a work of art with the freshest tomatoes... More

Iwhile back I purchased a discounted food voucher, without an expiration date, from the local radio station for Pontos, however when I got there this evening I was told they no longer accepted them nor would they honor the original gaurenteed purchase price of the voucher. That issue aside we enjoyed a tasty, reasonably priced, relaxed dinner. The decor is... More

We can't believe we haven't dined here before, but we will certainly return. Great menu at very reasonable prices. But wow... what service! Tiffany, daughter-in-law of the chef explained the menu to us and made several selections to my vegetarian wife. She even said that if we called ahead next time the chef would make a special veggie meal. The... More

This Greek restaurant is quite good, based on a limited visit here in January 2015. We had a shrimp entree at lunch, and a chicken souvlaki sandwich. The food was very fresh and authentic Greek. Original yogurt dressing in the sandwich . The shrimp has a very nice and unique roasted red pepper sauce, that appears to be a marinara... More

Pontos Taverna was my go-to restaurant for reasonably priced top-notch food, or when I wanted something less formal than Match. I sat down a lot but I also did take out at least a couple times a month because I craved their orzo so much. Everything is wonderful here; I would recommend it to anyone. Also if you like octopus... What a little treasure is Pontos. Used to pass by what seemed to be a Greek men's club - now it is a busy and bustling restaurant open to all. The food is fresh and authentic. The kitchen is not stretched beyond ability and as diners, we aren't being served a melange from yesterday owing to a fairly limited menu,... More
