Great Lobster and an Antique Boat Parade

Went to Abbott's yesterday and it was wonderful! The lobster was cooked to perfection because if I am not mistaken it is cooked in sea water. The atmosphere is great too. Usually we sit under the tent but because it was overcast, we were able to sit by the water. It just do happened that an... read more

Was given a recommendation from a friend (we were in Groton/New London area looking at a college). Twists and turns to get to the place, but so worth it. Right on the water, watching boats come in and out. Very busy, but the line moved, plenty of outside seating. All seafood fresh, and fantastic. Split the Lobster Feast with daughter,... More

My husband ordered the lobster, a once a year treat. He said it was the best lobster he ever had. I got some crab cakes and they were tasty. Sitting outside and watching the boats go by was wonderful. There was an antique boat parade while we were there. The one negative was the amount of trash that the meal... More

We have been going out to Abbott's ever since we moved to Southeastern CT 37 years ago. It is where we take visitors. Our most recent visit was a couple of weeks ago when my wife and I made out annual trip out there. We always go for lunch, arriving when they open or soon after. You can avoid the... More

Excellent fresh seafood and loved the BYOB! Had fresh lobster, steamers, muscles, soup and lobster deviled eggs. You won't be disappointed with the food or the views!

Have been twice so far this summer. My quiet solitary beach day and early dinner at Abbott's. Had chowder, clear first then the creamy. Both just full of clams and potatoes and briny deliciousness. Of course the highlight is the simple goodness of the steamed lobster. Then as it was early enough that I was able to get a table... More

Always a great way to spend a day with family! Clam chowder, creamy or broth. Lobster dinners and hot lobster rolls. This year they have added OMG lobster rolls - these have twice as much lobster AND the option of a Gluten-free bun. They do have grilled cheese and mac-n-cheese if your kids won't eat lobster. They also have desserts!... More

This was my second visit to Abbott's and it did not disappoint. I have had lobster rolls all over the New Engalnd states, but this is the best I have had. The view and outside seating on a warm suny day was amazing. I would highly recommend for those that do not like the typical mayonaisse and celery mixture. Just... More

It's all about the location, oh and the lobster, everything lobster on the menu, People ordered the lobster roll and were disappointed that they are "normally sized" and served on a small round roll instead of a "normal" lobster roll, aka, hot dog roll without sides. I enjoyed a full lobster with a bag of "Utz" potato chips, making our... More

This place is a fun spot by the water. The food is good, a bit pricey for what you get though, probably due to its nice outdoors location. Also, too bad everything is served in styrofoam and plastic, food just doesn't taste as good that way, not to mention all the trash it generates. Oh, well...
