We picked a great day to visit. A nice sunny day to be on the water and enjoy this simple, rustic place. We went in early October and did not have to deal with the crowds. However, the Lobster roll was so good I would go back and wait in the the crowds. The clam chowder was terrific as well.

This is a lobster shack. You stand in line to order at a window, then wait for your number to be called. But what you get is great, fresh lobster! Either as a dinner or on a roll. Both are great. Be sure to try the clam chowder and the stuffed clams as starters. They're terrific. It's worth the drive... More

On the way to NYC we stopped at Abbots on one of their last days this season. I had the OMG lobster roll and my wife had the smaller version. Both were served warm with butter on the side. I think the OMG was the better deal but you can't go wrong with either one. We've been here before and... More

Once you've found Abbott's the hardest part is over. Now sit back and enjoy the seafood feast. I found that it was worth it to upgrade to a larger lobster In my lobster feast. Fresh delicious seafood, simple chowder, corn on the cob, chips and cole slaw. Inside or outside seating is plentiful and stop by to take a look... More

Are you a fan of lobster ? Then you need to go to world famous Abbott's Lobster In The Rough at Noank, Connecticut. This place has been in business since 1947, and I can tell you why.... outstanding, fast service with a smile, great food, large seafood menu with a few things for us non-lobster people, and incredible views and... I was at this restaurant once when I was about 13 years old and it was an unknown diamond in the rough. I believe at that time there were four picnic tables...that's it. While the feel of the place has not changed (that's a good thing) the seating options have grown to include covered and open air seating, on the... More

There is a clue in the name. This is not silver service, it is not even waiter/rests service. It's order at the window, get a number, find a table, wait for your number to be called, go collect your order from the long red counter, eat meal and clean up after yourself. Sounds like McDonalds doesn't it. We'll not quite.... More

I have been going to this restaurant for years. I went again just last Sunday and it was just as good as I remember it. The lobster dinner was delicious and the picnic tables along the water made a beautiful setting. The only problem is finding a parking space. The parking lot is small and when the restaurant is crowded,... More

Friends of our raved about it and all I can say is that our friends need to get out more. A lobster roll on a hamburger bun? Seriously...? It all falls out. That's why the real deal come on hot dog style rolls. Kid #1, the hubs and I spent most of our time fishing the bits of lobster off... More
