Americana on a plastic tray

If a visitor from another country came to visit and asked to experience something quintessential about American life, I would bring him or her to Frosty Treat on a hot summer day. The menu and pricing are straight forward. Service is fast and courteous. You can see the owner and staff care. The lines are crazy but quality is second to none. Property is well maintained and clean. The parking is tight, because business the is always full.

This is exactly what a local ice cream bar should be. You wait in line to get a great ice cream sundae, dripping with hot fudge sauce and whip cream.

I had a hot fudge sundae with chocolate ice cream. Perfect, with nuts on top. My husband ordered a peanut butter cup mixed ice cream. Large serving but a bit dry, should add hot fudge or something when mixing to make it change the flavor a bit instead of just mixing candy into ice cream.

Beautiful view of the sound, candy bars you thought were extinct, dozens of loose sweets in jars (they've even got Finnish licorice), ice cream, ices and lunch food. Well worth the trip.

We love frosty treat, our favorite icecream place! Staff is made up of young highschool/college kids who are very friendly and efficient. Many types of icecream, shakes, floats, toppings, slushies and even offers a clam shack type food side as well. Outside seating only, open seasonally. Within walking distance of town and beach.

I have eaten here several times, and usually with the kids. This is a nice place to grab a quick meal. I am not a big fan of fried foods or fast foods, but I do return here when we are enjoy time at some of the nearby activities, (beach, movies, children's museum). The kIds like the fries and chicken... More

On the way to the McCook's beach in Niantic. Close enough, so you can leave the beach for lunch and go back, within walking distance. Terrific footling hotdogs and all the regular grill type lunches including clams, all taste very good, serving sizes are normal. The ice cream is soft or hard. Good buy for the buck. This is a...
