Skippers is one of those places that delivers on it's promises. Way too many New England clam shacks have become nothing more than independent fast food joints. Everything is greasy and heavily breaded in an attempt to bury the not so fresh quality of their seafood. Skippers does things they way all these others used to. Light breading, freshest possible... Was on the way back home at 3pm and I just had a craving for fried clams. I know, I know, the worst possible thing I could eat trying to lose weight but somehow I justified it. I think they were the best ive ever had. Been a long time. Sat outside under the awning and watched the boats on... More

Lightly breaded, generous portion, I loaded it with delicious tartar sauce, I want to eat another one right now! Other offerings looked good too and prices comparable to other seafood shacks

A small place, it nevertheless turns out excellent fresh fish dishes-fish & chips crisp, fresh tasting-not greasy or oily at all-the fries are very good as well-lobster roll very well-packed with delicious meat--not over-mayo-ed!--I would have liked some coffee but we did settle for yummy creamy icecream shakes! It was Memorial day so difficult to get to the place as... More

Would - and will - return... would recommend to friends. We went to Skippers with the whole family, so sampled a lot of different items. I'm not a big fan of fried fish, but Skipper's surprised me. Their fish & chips did not come out oily and greasy. The fish was tender, flaky and delicious. The fries that came with... More

This small restaurant has much going for it: indoor and outdoor seating, great views, friendly staff, and very good food. I ordered and enjoyed the lobster roll, which came with fries and cole slaw. All very good. Reasonably priced, too. The added bonus of seeing Amtrak's trains pass by directly across the street made for a very pleasant, low budget... More
