A light meal with fabulous flavor

There were 3 of us for a Thursday night dinner. My companions were kind enough to let me taste. The lobster bisque was tasty, but had very little lobster in it.The New England clam chowder was tasty, and you could taste the clams. My husband and I had a lovely lunch (salmon was delicious and pitcher of sangria was great too) on the deck overlooking the water. They also have a patio above but we had our little dog so could tie him up on the rope of the deck while we ate. Trains are always passing by but they travel quickly so... More

We came in to this restaurant for lunch with an entire baseball team and their parents. The bartender and waitress were both extremely nice. They welcomed us in and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was very good, especially the lobster bisque and they prices were very reasonable. The outdoor deck looked lovely. We would definitely return... More

My boyfriend and I took a mini vacation back in 2012 to Mohegan Sun, but decided not to actually stay on the casino property. We stayed in a little town a few miles from the casino. On that trip we discovered this restaurant, Main Street Grill. We both ordered the prime rib, end cut that evening. It melted in your... More

We were very dissapointed with this place. We waited 50 minutes for our dinner while other people who came in later were served much faster. I ordered prime rib which was the worst grade of meat I ever have been served. It was tough, tasteless and cold (obviously frozen) but certainly not prime angus beef as advertised. The mashed potatoes... More

OK, to be truthful I didn't not have exceedingly high expectations after walking by the place and reading the TA reviews. But... We really wanted to eat outside and there is a lovely second floor shaded deck overlooking the ocean. The menu looked as though there was something that tickled my fancy. I ordered a salad with sesame crusted Ahi... More

The interior of this restaurant is very nicely done. We sat on the outdoor deck which overlooks the water and, every 15 minutes, an Amtrak train. The menu is good - a nice amount of options for both adults and kids. The service was slow however and, if you're on the deck, the server needs to go up and down... More

The location and packed parking lot caused me to optimistic. The place was less busy than the parking lot implied. I liked the views a lot from the deck. Wait staff was fine, but seems stretched. I felt pushed a bit to make decisions, maybe to turn the table faster, but later I did not get same sense. The food... More

If you only get to Niantic once in a great while (once every 5 years for me) this is the place to eat. It may not be the locals favorite, it may not be the least expensive, it may not be the highest rated but being from the Midwest and sitting on the deck eating clam strips is a great... More

We took a chance and walked in for lunch. I had a lobster roll which was served warm with butter and is was full of delicious lobster. My husband had fried clams, they were very tender. We also indulged in dessert and had the chocolate mousse cake, OMG!! That was the best cake I've had in forever.
