Hearty, tasty, cheap meal

Tried this pizza and was not disappointed! At first the pies look small but they are loaded with toppings. The pizza is a deep dish style. We tried the cheese and several of the specialty pizzas (there were a lot of us) and each was good. We were staying at a beach close by so we picked them up... read more

I had heard there was new mangement or ownership, so I wanted to give it another try because it is conveniently located. But as usual I was greatly disappointed. Nothing is fresh, the food is thrown together with no care or concern and once again when I requested something it was completely ignored.

We have eaten a few times now at the Village Pizza Grill here in Niantic. its a short drive out of town on main street next to East Coast Taco. place is on the small side with 16 or so seats. plus an outdoor seating area. This place does a lot of take out . The menu is large, witch... More

All we can comment on are the grinders on a Sunday afternoon for takeout when Hartford Grinder in Niantic was closed. But we have to say they were wonderful. Short wait for toasted grinders -- 2 eggplant parm with peppers , 1 Italian and a speciality: The Cambridge. Shaved steak, blue cheese, lettuce and tomato. Didn't regret trying this one!... More

This place has a hugh menu especially for such a small place. This should have been my first warning about quality. How can any restaurant, even larger ones, put out top notch food when they have such a hugh menu? My wife ordered a gyro. It was basically average, but would have been great if the pita wasn't toasted and... More

The pizza is o.k. and super cheap.... much better options downtown Niantic for greek style pizza. However, their salads are out of this world and they have a wonderful housemade creamy garlic dressing, homemade appetizers like spinach pie and onion rings. All very good. The staff is always very friendly. I think the decor could use something extra, the restaurant... More

Just wanted a grinder to take home so I decided we would give this place a try. There were only 4 tables with customers and it took 5 min for someone to take my order. I have worked in restaurants and it seems like they didn't know what they were doing. Odd place. The grinders were good but nothing special.... More

They have some good options on their menu but each time I order there I am disappointed. Recently I asked detailed questions about their chicken and steak bomb and then requested a light amount of black pepper. The result was overly peppered sandwiches and mushrooms on sandwiches which I asked to only have cheese and onions on. On the other... More

Good pizza, affordable casual meal for a vacationing family! So far we have only tried pizza and salads, but they have a much bigger menu and do a good carry out business!

I have eaten at the Village Pizza and Grille many times and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the wait staff is always friendly and cater to your needs. At the end of your dinner don't forget the homemade rice pudding it is delicious.
