Like stepping back in time. Great food, great people, wonderful, welcoming "down home" atmosphere. Don't miss it!! Would highly recommend if you're looking for simple, relaxed, "un-fancy" place to have a good, delicious meal with friendly folks in an old fashioned atmosphere!

Caveat...I am a huge diner food fanatic and The Sandy Hook Diner does not disappoint. Large portions served efficiently....traditional diner values abound. They bake a lot of their bread and pastry on premise and the baked goods are excellent. Again...it's a diner but, then again, it's better than 98% of the diners you will visit.

This is your basic family diner with a wide selection of diner food. The staff and clients are very friendly. My spinach feta omelette and hash browns were very good - and large portions. You will not leave hungry here

I went into the diner with my son while trying to kill some time before a doctors appointment. My son wanted to get me a cup of coffee, but realized he didn't have enough money. When he told the waitress and owner Ellie this, she told him not to worry about it. She gave us both a cup of coffee... More

Sweet helpful people at a very small and very old place. Bypassed the Blue Colony for the small town place. Stopped here for burgers on Sunday. No fries after noon but the burger was a great size and delicious! Not fancy.

When you walk in you immediately feel pulled back to a simpler, friendlier time. The staff is perfectly attentive in a down-home way. The breakfast is fresh, delicious and made to order fast. The coffee is perfect and served in ceramic mugs. One of my favorite places to take the family or meet friends.

One of my favorite places to meet a friend for lunch (plus breakfast every so often)...as has been written, forget the printed menu and order from the white board of specials...just a happy place to eat....

Great little kitchen in Sandy Hook Center! Fresh homemade breakfasts and lunches. All served with a wonderful greeting and a smile.

It has been very tough after 12/14. Knowing that Ellie, Cliff and the Sandy Hook Diner are still with us helps. This is our standard Saturday morning place to meet and greet friends or just gear down after the week. We seem to be sitting amount people who regularly provide random acts of kindness. Forget the printed menu and go... More

We love this place. It really is something out of the past. This is the kind of place that everyone seems to know everyone else. The food is above average, the atmosphere is fun & retro. They always have specials that are interesting. The portion sizes are generous. The servers are always friendly.
