Our party of 5 adults and 4 children went to the Cookhouse for a birthday celebration for my husband. As an appetizer we always order the corn poppers, deep fried creamy corn fritters. Delicious. Some of our party had pulled pork sandwiches, ribs and some other typical "cowboy steakhouse" entrees. We eat here quite often and the food is always... More

I reviewed this place awhile back and tonight I decided to go try it again! Wow, was I pleased with the food. What a great suprise it was...it is now much tastier and my biggest kudos is their BBQ sauce called "SCARY"...named for that because of the hotness level. Yes it is really tasty and made my brisket platter even... More

Make sure you are hungry when you go to the Cookhouse! Portions are generous and very filling. The ribs are always impeccable and their baked beans are excellent. The Barbecue Sunday, while not diet friendly to be sure, is a mouth-watering treat of barbecue deliciousness. The service can be a little inconsistent (typical of many New Milford-area restaurants) - woefully... More

This is our family's favorite restaurant in New Milford. The food is outstanding. The music is great. The staff is like family. They are always friendly and take their time with each table. The appetizers are so yummy and there is a good variety.

This is a bar/restaurant in New Milford CT. They have a separate dining area from the bar area but the dining area is on the second floor and is not handicap accessible, as a result we ate in the bar area. The menu is comfort foods and a reasonable selection with reasonable pricing. The serving sizes are very, very large.... More

Have been coming to cookhouse for awhile, the service and quality continues to slide backwards. Ironically these folks also own the Newtown Inn which is a far superior restaurant, so I'm kind of surprised the cookhouse doesn't offer comparable dining. 👍👍👍 out of 👍👍👍👍👍

This is a good place for barbecue. My son loves the ribs, while my daughter always loves the salmon. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. Restaurant seems clean. Service is their biggest downfall, especially if it's busy. Management should invest in training the staff better as well as enforce how important the customers are. Worth trying... More

I had heard from friends what a great place to eat this was. So my wife and decided to eat there tonight. It is a great place as I said in the title if you like smoked pork, beef and so on. We both had prime rib which was fine, the sides were good as well. The service was OK,... More

For all it is cracked up to be The Cookhouse was a very big disappointment. Food was "average" at best. Ribs were not very meaty and way overpriced. Last time I intend to see the inside of The Cookhouse.
