I liked this place, it looks and feels very homey & funky and the good food was fresh. They have an unusual selection of very nice drinks, too.

Rainy day in new London and wanted a coffee and a cookie (got a muffin too!) Very nice and tasty. Got a comfy couch and sat and read lots of old circa 1950-1970 life magazines, watching the rain fall. Then got grilled cheese and soup mmmm. Perfect On a rainy day.

My wife and I really enjoy this place when we are in New London. The sandwiches are always fresh and very tasty and BIG. There is a great selection of drinks. I enjoy the hot chai. It is nice having a non-typical restaurant to eat in. It is very relaxing and today a gentleman was playing soft music on the... More

Coffee was terrible, food was lack luster. Atmosphere was.. ok, very quiet, a few regulars sitting around. Barista was sweet, but everything else was bleh.

It is easy to label downtown New London as a dead zone, yet there is a vibrant community of interesting people who call New London home. Finding these eclectic folks is easy, as they usually hang out at the Muddy Waters Cafe for breakfast, and/or lunch. The vibe here is laid back, and the cafe is decorated with interesting, vintage... This is an old-fashioned tea shop sort of with a real fire place, sofas and easy chairs, homemade soups and great sandwiches and pastries. A relaxing place to wait for the nearby Amtrak train and to warm up on a cold day.

It's hit or miss with the service and coffee here. Some days both is good, some days one is, and some neither. I'll tell you when you hit a cood coffee day you hit a good coffee day. That's all I go for here.

My daughter suggested this cafe for breakfast on a cool October morning. Wow what a good breakfast experience. Coffee is excellent. The staff have their acts together. The pretty ladies remember your name and treat you like family. I loved it here. I sat on the outdoor seating area and got to see the trains roll in and the ferries... More
