While visiting the Groton and New London CT area, my wife searched for a place to have lunch. She saw the reviews for Capt'n Scott's was very good so we decided to search it out and we were not disappointed. Although it is not fancy, it was a great experience. We enjoyed the outside deck, the food was great and... More

Maybe it's the batter, the fried food or the ice cream but the clients were mostly people of size. Folks lugged in coolers to guzzle their favorite brew. The fish was fresh but had too much batter. Atmosphere is 5*. Friendly service.

We ate here twice on 9/2, lunch was just my wife and I and at dinner there were four of us. The lobster rolls are the best we have found in the area and the other seafood choices (clam strips and scallop rolls esp.) are also very good to great. If you like lobster, go to Capt. Scott's

The fish and chips were excellent. The fish was cooked perfectly. Where I am from, fried fish is always over-battered and overcooked, making you sick afterwards. This batter was very light and crispy, with just enough flavor not to overpower the taste of the fish. The fish itself was delicious, moist and tender. The lobster roll was also very tasty,... More

Wow, now that is a beautiful, fresh, mouth watering meal! The roll is like a hot dog bun which is soft and tasty, topped with a large portion of delectable lobster meat, from the claw, I mean chunks not stringy bits...the lobster bisque was so rich and heavenly, with real lobster pieces n it. So buttery! The scallops had the... More

This is the first place we think of for lobster. Very casual, byob.. Enjoy the view of the boats and enjoy fabulous fried clams and lobster in all its' glory. Get there early, the line can be long, and parking limited.

I had a great lobster dinner with friends at Capt Scott's. I am a big fan of Abbott's and I would say that the lobster dinner at Capt Scott's was superior. Great lobster, nice red potatoes and ear of corn- all very fresh and hot. My husband had a lobster roll and was very happy with his meal. My friend... More

We were very fortunate to visit on the last day of August when there was live music all day. The food was very good, a shrimp po-boy was one of the best we have ever had, and a cheese burger which was good. The fries were also very good. It was busy with a long line, however the wait was... More

Always enjoyed going to Captain. Scott's but went last week and had the worst clam dinner I ever had. The clams were very over done and I was burping them up all night. The clam chowder was all potato' s not one little piece of clam. Very disappointed. Don' think I will be going there any more.It was so bad... More

This is a regular stop for us when we visit our son at Conn College. The line moves quickly so don't let that scare you. Sitting outside, sharing wonderful food, knowing these moments are fleeting - what could be better? We all had lobster rolls and shared a side of fried clams. The lobster rolls are generously filled with fresh... More
