We love Captain Scotts for their lobster rolls. I prefer the hot roll with the large chunks of lobster tossed in melted butter while others in my family prefer the cold which is mixed with mayo. They also have a very good seafood platter and clam fritters, although all these tasty items are fried! For those "non seafood" eaters, like... more

Captain Scott's is simply the BEST! We go at least once a week all summer long and love the lobster rolls with their HUGE chunks of fresh lobster, their wholebellies are the tastiest and their scallops are just fabulous with very light breading. I love the lobster bisque, it has HUGE chunks of lobster in it and is so thick... more

I agree with SavvyRI's review. The whole belly clams were not worth the money and the fish in the fish & chips was almost invisible. On the other hand, the calamari and scallops were great. I don't understand how they could manage to deliver an order with such mixed results. I'll go back, because I like the place, but they... more

Awesome lobster, clams, lobster rolls, potatoes, and cole slaw. Don't waste money on expensive places. This is as fresh as seafood gets with a no frills covered picnic table atmosphere. I would go back here everyday if we didn't live about 1000 miles from it! more

This place can be very hard to find if you are not from the area but can not be beat for BIG meaty chucks of fresh lobster in their lobster rolls. It's only outsoor seating under a roof shelter on picnic tables, but it's clean and with friendly people. Nice view of the charter fishing boats as you eat. Summer... more

Very disappointed with the supposed "whole" belly clams. I figured this was a good place since it's right by the docks and has a retail fish store, but the $16.xx clam plate was a real let down. I don't think there was one decent whole belly! The fish and chip plate was also somwhat disappointing at $10. Will not go... more

We read about this place through trip advisor and decided to try out "where the locals go". It really is a great little place, located behind some industrial buildings next to a dock. It has a walk-up order window, but the service was very quick after ordering. The food was FANTASTIC. The lobster bisque is to absolutely die for....don't leave... more

For many years, this was my favorite. But, just ate there and now the portions are small and my whole belly clams were severely overcooked and red potatoes were undercoooked! more

I had the muscles and Rhode Island clam chowder. Both were excellent. You can also BYOB and enjoy it right along the water. This place is a hidden gem in New london! more
