A friend and I went spontaneously for fish and chips on Saturday night, and were surprised at the line at 5:30. We voiced surprise that the tourists were still around as we waited for more than a half hour in line, which gave us an opportunity to talk to others waiting. One couple had driven from New Bedford, Ma to... More

Captain Scott's was always one of my favorite places but this summer, the lines every time I have gone have been really long. This past Saturday, we waited for 1 1/2 hours to order. By the time we got up to order, many of the menu items were out. The food we got was okay but not worth the wait.... More

I ate here for the first time this summer and enjoyed it enough to return a few weeks later for a second visit. The food is very good, tasted fresh and is served hot. You order from an outside window then sit on picnic tables outside, or under a cover. The setting is very relaxing as well. The prices are... More

We love coming to Captain Scott's Lobster Dock for the freshest seafood, best french fries and delicious ice cream. There is no liquor license, so we bring our own wine. We go when the weather is delightful. We enjoy the sounds of the Marina next door and the occasional train going by. The service is self-serve and there are plenty... More

While visiting the Groton and New London CT area, my wife searched for a place to have lunch. She saw the reviews for Capt'n Scott's was very good so we decided to search it out and we were not disappointed. Although it is not fancy, it was a great experience. We enjoyed the outside deck, the food was great and... More

Maybe it's the batter, the fried food or the ice cream but the clients were mostly people of size. Folks lugged in coolers to guzzle their favorite brew. The fish was fresh but had too much batter. Atmosphere is 5*. Friendly service.

We ate here twice on 9/2, lunch was just my wife and I and at dinner there were four of us. The lobster rolls are the best we have found in the area and the other seafood choices (clam strips and scallop rolls esp.) are also very good to great. If you like lobster, go to Capt. Scott's

The fish and chips were excellent. The fish was cooked perfectly. Where I am from, fried fish is always over-battered and overcooked, making you sick afterwards. This batter was very light and crispy, with just enough flavor not to overpower the taste of the fish. The fish itself was delicious, moist and tender. The lobster roll was also very tasty,... More

Wow, now that is a beautiful, fresh, mouth watering meal! The roll is like a hot dog bun which is soft and tasty, topped with a large portion of delectable lobster meat, from the claw, I mean chunks not stringy bits...the lobster bisque was so rich and heavenly, with real lobster pieces n it. So buttery! The scallops had the... More

This is the first place we think of for lobster. Very casual, byob.. Enjoy the view of the boats and enjoy fabulous fried clams and lobster in all its' glory. Get there early, the line can be long, and parking limited.
