Always enjoyed going to Captain. Scott's but went last week and had the worst clam dinner I ever had. The clams were very over done and I was burping them up all night. The clam chowder was all potato' s not one little piece of clam. Very disappointed. Don' think I will be going there any more.It was so bad... More

This is a regular stop for us when we visit our son at Conn College. The line moves quickly so don't let that scare you. Sitting outside, sharing wonderful food, knowing these moments are fleeting - what could be better? We all had lobster rolls and shared a side of fried clams. The lobster rolls are generously filled with fresh... More

I'd never had a "hot" lobster roll so decided to try it. It's just lobster and butter on a roll; not too much to fool with. As other reviewers have notes here, the bun got pretty soggy; I don't think it was toasted before being loaded. I didn't find that to be a problem, but you might. The lobster was... More

I visited Captain Scott's Lobster Dock on a recent getaway to Connecticut and had a great lunch here! You can tell that the place is exceedingly popular with locals; the line was long and most of the tables were full! I split a lobster roll and a fried shrimp meal with my partner: both dishes were solid, and we got... More

I must say, I would never ever go back to Captain Scott's Lobster Dock. Uck! The shrimp shells had patches of black and the shrimps came out of the fryer like they were wet or soggy inside the breading. I had to remove the shrimp's "vein" myself more than once. I could also taste the salt water that the shrimps... More

We ate on Sunday about 4pm. The line was long but moved well. They ran out of whole belly clams right as we got up to order but that was ok. I had lobster bisque, it was delicious. I also had syeamers which were great. I had not one bit of grit. My friend had lobster roll, cold, she said... More

We ate at Captain Scott's last night on our yearly trip to NE. My kids ordered chicken fingers, fries, onion rings and fried clams. All of them were just average. The lobster roll had large chunks of meat, but was smaller this year. Both my friend and I had a shell in our roll, but aside from that, it was... More

I came to New England for my birthday on a quest to find the best lobster roll, Scott's had a good amount of lobster on the large hot roll. It could have had more butter and cole slaw was bland.

We had two couples from Colchester meet us here and never thought the line would be so long on a Wednesday nite. Lorraine and I normally go at 3:00pm Sundays or 2:00 pm Wednesdays and are prepared for the 1/2 hour wait in line which is not a problem for the quality of the meal we have and the atmosphere... I went recently for the lobster roll and was not disappointed. It's right on the marina, between the train tracks and the docks. A bit out of the way, but worth it. The outdoor seating area was clean, the counter staff efficient. They could use some shade for the people waiting in line to order, but otherwise, pretty good.
