Best Indian in NL County

While I truly love the other choices in Mystic and in Groton, I have to say that Northern India in New London is hands-down my favorite! I am vegetarian and can say that even my non-vegetarian friends and family LOVE their meatless dishes. Our staple dinners are the Chana Masala (made medium+), the... read more

I'm not an Indian food expert, but I know when things taste good, and this place has great food! I don't remember what I ate, as I was with someone that knew about what to order. They bring out these little like perfectly made crispy flatbread things that were great. Ask for the three little sauces with them and have... More

Two weeks without a visit to the Northern Indian Restaurant is enough to bring on a case of withdrawal. We're missing Jigme the server, John the owner and our favorite Masala dishes. Conveniently located just down the street from The Garde theater, this restaurant is consistently good. And we are pretty consistent with what we order. I love the vegetable/chickpea... More

Northern Indian Restaurant looks like a "little hole in the wall" diner that you see on the corner of any city street. We ate there for the first time last year and loved it, and we could hardly find it when we went again tonight! It's worth it, though, because the menu is extensive, the service is very welcoming, quick... More

My hometown doesn't have it's share of different food (I would kill for a decent bowl of pho most days). Driving through New London I happened to spot this restaurant after a few disappointing meals in a row in the area. I saw they had a lunch buffet and I wanted to check it out the next day. I was... This is a Tibetan-run restaurant with excellent Indian-style cuisine. I really love the buffet lunches here. Very good value.

I'm not the biggest fan of Indian food, but this place was rather good! The only thing I noticed was the price for the size of the portion, was a little steep. I would give it another try, being the service was so friendly and everyone on staff had a big ole' smile on their face. The server was very... More

Most dinner dishes are $13-14 so you may want to go for lunch where the same dishes are $7-8. Lamb vindaloo was nicely spiced and the Biryani is unique and very flavorful. Chicken Tikka Masala was weird - it was sweet! First time that's been true, And the Mala Kofta was also in a sweetish creme sauce. If you are... More

We start dinner with a genuinely warm and appreciative welcome and soon are served various delicious fried vegetarian appetizers, learn that internet password here is "freetibet" and have staff rush out to help my friend find a parking space. A really sweet start to a dinner. The quality of the food and the service held up through dinner. A very... More
