This is a cute little dive-style diner with yolk-colored walls, and a short-order cook that still hasn't realized how cliche it is to bark at customers and/or pelt food at them on their way out. For a cook that works in an open kitchen environment, you'd think she'd make sure that those home fries are golden brown-not completely anemic. Is... More

You have to be the right person to enjoy the Yolk Cafe, f/k/a the Brok'n Yoke Cafe. You have to have a sense of humor and not take the small things too seriously. We found a listing on line because we were looking for a breakfast place in New London. The food was fabulous. My wife had a take on... More

I have been living in the area for a few years not and have been told by friends to try out the Brok'n Yoke. It should be called a Brok'n Joke. We went there today (Sunday) and placed our order pretty quickly. I would say about 30 minutes into the wait, my wife said that the food that was given... More

My daughter and I went to the Yolk for breakfast. I'm not a big eater so I typically order just one scrambled egg, one slice of toast and baked beans. I have a tough time making wait staff understand I am a light eater these people were great and the food was awesome. Great baked beans a little spicy with... More

We love taking time for a great breakfast. This place offers a great breakfast with creative specials worthy of fine dining, yet found in a setting that seems like a throwback to a 60's diner. The food was terrific. Don't miss the corned beef hash. Our server recommended it and we were very thankful. Home made and delicious. One of... More

The Yoke restaurant is one of the most fun places I have ever been short of going home to Mom's. The wait staff shirts say it is "no longer broken" but online, that is still how you find the restaurant. The cook / owner is a great food artist and likes to have fun while she makes your best breakfast... More

My boyfriend and I always try new places for breakfast and figured we would give this place a shot. There was no seating inside but that didn't bother us that much first. We slowly began figure out that the entire staff was in their own worlds and had no structure. We figured maybe the food would still be good, after... More

We were visiting from Georgia and stopped in for breakfast on Sunday morning. This place wound up being the culinary highlight of our trip! From the friendly, funny, and sometimes quirky staff to the quantity, quality, and variety of food, this place is first rate. It is not fast food so if you want a quick meal you should consider... I have been going to this restaurant consistently for at least four years, and each experience has been nothing short of amazing. My most recent visit was no exception: I came in and announced that I was dreaming of a veggie burger with all the vegetables possible... my dreams came true. (The picture is attached, albeit after a few bites... More
