I've had just about every dish and sampled their available specials from time to time. The seafood is fresh daily, the kitchen is open and inviting, the prices are perfect, the staff is excellent and service is good. Never once disappointed. Sad to hear Jack is leaving. Good luck with his new endeavor, Cap'n Jack's.

I had Salmon Picatta, and it was delicious. The staff were very patient with us and all our questions, and very attentive. My mother also liked her meal, I think she got scallops or shrimp. I would definitely go there again!!

Fresh fish, always something different to choose from, and the hardest working chef around. The best advantages of a small, comfortable, and warm space make the visit energizing and very satisfying.

The place is very small, and the view is of a Salvation Army store but the food is excellent! We went with our children and their spouses recently on a night there was lots of activity in town and the place was crowded. We made a reservation and our table was ready but the food took a long time to... More

It's a bit on the small side, and can be crowded since seating is so limited. But they have great quality food at affordable prices. I dig places whose menu changes often, depending on what's freshest.

I've taken my family & friends to Chaplin's anytime I want to show off. Jack Chaplin and his team provide amazing customer service. It's a cozy space. The menu is great but the specials are even better. A must visit in downtown New London!

First off, I would give Chaplin's a 4.5, if that score was available here on Trip Advisor. We recently had a Saturday night dinner at Chaplin's and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our first courses were the Caesar salad and lobster & corn soup. The salad was good and the soup was close to perfect and very hardy. Our main courses of... More

Just last weekend we were trying to think of a place that would satifsy all of the following: great food, casual, local, friendly, reasonable prices, and even a little funky! Well, we found it! CHAPLIN's in New London, on Bank Street. We were so thrilled to finally give it a try. We have had a number of people recommend it,... More

The wife and I have had this one on our list for a while now. We finally got there and wondered why it took so long. She had the stuffed flounder...very good. I had the shrimp scampi over beef medallions...excellent. The wife had the White Chocolate Blueberry Bread Pudding for dessert...excellent. 1 Mystic River beer...2 glasses of Pinot Grigio a... More
