Great Italian Food

We went to L'Orcio have seeing a play at Long Wharf. We sat down just after 5PM on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was empty when we sat down but became crowded after 6 PM. We started off with Beef Carpaccio and Beet Salad followed by a Salami and shave fennel appetizer. We finished with... read more

The decor, both inside and outside is pretty. The food is very delicious. Their staff was welcoming. There was only once when I visited that the dish I ordered wasn't the best, but that was personal taste rather than how they cook, a mistake on my part. I highly recommend!

The food here is simply awesome. The service here is awesome. The outside area is awesome. It's a little pricey but completely worth it. It's great for date or an anniversary. They make classic Italian dishes taste phenomenal. I've been there twice and the crowd there it's pretty fun. Last time I was there with the friends we actually met... More

Butternut squash ravioli and osso bucco were both delicious. Meat fell off the bone and was tender. The ravioli was flavorful and sauce was great. Nice wine selection.

My disappointment began when our hosts told us we would not be going to Union League for dinner as planned but this place, which they raved on and on about, especially the outdoor courtyard. But, we like trying new places and know that a restaurant can't make it in New Haven serving mediocre Italian. And on that note L'orcio does... More

This place is fabulous and for so many reasons. I have to admit I saw their garden seating and loved the pictures so asked my husband if we could go there for our anniversary. He called and made the reservation telling them it was our anniversary and when we arrived I realized they had saved us a very nice seat... More

Food was only OK and not worth the cost. the wait staff was rude and inattentive. I was very disappointed. People told us it was great and it wasn't . There are just too many great resturants in new haven to go here

Try out this New Haven Northern Italian, which won't disappoint! In the nicer weather, ask to be seated on their outdoor patio for a really nice experience. Homemade pastas and fresh meat and fish make this a nice "go to" while in the area.

My husband and I had our anniversary dinner here and it couldn't have been better. Everything was perfect: our red wine, antipasto, entrees, and dessert. I don't usually order gnocchi, because it can be either heavenly or terrible depending on the restaurant, but I trusted in L'Orcio and they delivered. They a gnocchi on the specials menu that evening with... More

Old-school Italian with a modern menu. The decor is understated elegance, the menu has both traditional Italian favorites and some more contemporary flair, and the staff is very attentive. The patio is lovely on a beautiful afternoon or evening. A treat for adults looking for a civilized leisurely meal in an environment where conversation is possible,
