Just came home from an amazing meal at L'orcio. The service was perfection and the food was heavenly. From appetizer till till the dessert there is something to make your tastebuds joyous. I have been to Italy many times, but the ricotta gnocchi served here stands shoulders above. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection as with the branzino. There... More

I've been to L'Orcio many times in the past, and it has always been good. However, something has changed since the last time I went there. L'Orcio has gone from good to great! When I made the reservation on OpenTable for 6, I requested the trellaced garden (very nice al fresco dining). For those not familiar with OpenTable, everything is... More

This restaurant was one of the best I've been to in a long time! Everything was outstanding...and take it from me who is 100% Italian. It was truly great on all levels - ambiance, service and of course the FOOD!!! They also have a GREAT garden area in the back. If you are in New Haven and looking for a... More

Back yard dining area provides excellent environment for sharing food and conversation with friends. Lots of choices, decently prepared, yet some don't live up to expectations from menu description. Carpaccio plate was 80% arugula, Veal Perugina had, aside from the veal, very little of the listed ingredients and lacked flavor. Respectful of special order requests, all of which were properly... We've been enjoying L'Orcio for a couple of years now and our experience has been consistently excellent. Recently we had a small dinner party there with family and friends and everything came together marvelously. Warm welcome and then seated upstairs in the beautiful dining area (my preference is the exposed brick ambience downstairs, next to a great bar area). Side... More

This is a very good restaurant. I give it four stars because some of their dishes are a little bit outdated, probably to make happy people who have stereotypical ideas of Italian food. Nonetheless, their dishes will never let you down. I love their seafood pasta. Another reason for the 4 stars: some dishes are overpriced.

I had dinner there with my daughter and granddaughter early on a Friday evening. It started to get louder by 7:30 but we were able to have a conversation. I had the Branzino, my daughter a filet mignon and they very helpfully prepared a plate that a 10 year old could (and did) enjoy. All were delighted with their meals.... More

Went over there during the Yale graduation night. Five people. Waitress was not rude. Confused orders and instead of steamed mussels brought sausages. Handmade noodles were worse than noodles from Walmart. Tomato sauce was very watery. Pulled chicken in pasta was actually meat from chicken leg with all uneatable pieces. Big plates with small portions. Even Olive Garden would be... More

I really was looking forward to going here. I had heard such great things. Our service was terrible. Waiter never introduced himself (wasn't sure if he was our waiter or not). Took repeated requests for water and even more requests to get some bread. He was confused about menu. My dad ordered the beet salad and was given a salad... More

We have eaten at L'Orcio twice and both times have had delicious food and excellent service. The salads (spinaci one night, rucola the next) were fresh, abundant and had the right amount of dressing. The lobster ravioli (5 large ones) were light and full of lobster meat and the creamy sauce was the perfect counterpoint. The tiramisu was some of... More
