Thai Taste is located in the Yale area of New Haven. My family and I dined here for lunch while I was visiting CT for the holidays. Unfortunately, it would not an exceptional lunch. I was looking forward to the chicken pad thai, but the chicken was rubbery and overcooked, and the dish had little flavor. The rest of my... More

Visited her on a Sunday afternoon. It is a block from the Yale U. Art Museum. We had two appetizers including vegetable rolls (4) and fried tofu. Both were excellent, cooked perfectly, and delicious. We had six separate entrees, including vegetable siriachi, three lunch boxes, a pad thai entree and others. The meals were very well done and excellent. The... More

We visited here on a Saturday night at 7:30 pm. Our daughter had been here several times and liked it. It is in the basement of a building, and the restaurant looks old. It was fairly crowded, but there were open tables. We noticed many individuals picking up carryout orders, so it seems like a popular restaurant. We do not... More

We read all the reviews for Thai restaurants in New Haven so expected this place to be good (we weren't expecting fireworks). It was average... We got a table, made our order, we were moved to accommodate a larger group, then our starter came, well before our drinks. Drinks arrived after asking two more times, and starter was ok. The... I went there today with high hopes. Thee were several dishes I wanted to try but as this was a first visit at lunch I just ordered chicken pud Thai. Sadly this was very blah. Sweet, no heat, not punch in the flavor. it was OK but I will not be back to try the rest of the menu as... More

My boyfriend found this place for dinner. We both love Thai food and were excited about trying a new place. You walk down stairs to a basement restaurant and a giant sign saying New York Times claims best Thai food ...year 1998. As you walk in, the place is old and falling apart. Had to wait a couple minutes to... More

This is a very understated Thai restaurant in the heart of the neighborhood around Yale. It was very good. I went with a group. I ordered the Yum Nao. It was very good. The beef and the salad were flavorful. Others in my group had the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai and Duck. They were all very pleased.

Food is good, the environment is nice, but some time the staff lacks of hospitality and timeliness. My favorite dish here is the Pad Thai, and the hot basil. You are going to be happy here if you love spicy foods (like I do). I go here once every month or two. It's affordable and it has a good location... More

Was in New Haven on business recently and our hotel (the Omni) recommended Thai Taste as their "best Thai in town." Can't disagree - it was really good! We enjoyed the Pad Thai and Prih Khing - and both were awesome. The Prih Khing had a bit more coconut milk than we were accustomed to, but it was a great... More

I have been to Thai Taste many times and I always get good service, good food, and good atmosphere. My favorite dish is the Chicken Massaman Curry. It's always served hot and the portion is more that enough. I really enjoy their cocktails as well. They don't skimp on the alcohol when mixing their drinks. The presentation of food and... More
