Can't go wrong

I've been to Thai Taste many times and every time I've ordered something different. I haven't been disappointed yet! Usually very fast but if it's crowded it can take a while. Good food: large and diverse menu including many classics. Nice curries and noodle dishes. Most portions in the dinner menu are particularly large and satisfying. The lunch menu is priced slightly lower and some of the dishes are slightly smaller, within reason; as someone who eats a lot I feel the dinner is a better bang for the buck. Service... More

We were traveling through and as a family we prefer to eat at locally owned restaurants. It was suggested we try Thai Taste...wish we hadn't. Service was good. But the food was not. All six of us had something different so we could try each other's, nothing was outstanding. And the kicker was a large beetle fell from the ceiling... More

The service was extremely quick, the food well prepared and presented. On the negative side, the wine list is lacking and the decor needs an upgrade. The busy and bustling nature is probably more attractive to a younger crowd. The duck was very good, and the pricing competitive.

I've been to this restaurant many times over the years, usually for lunch, but not within the last two years (and also have never written a review). On this occasion, again lunch, I was glad to see that the restaurant has maintained its reliable standard. The food was very good, and the service was friendly and quick. There are several... More

Thai Taste is located in the Yale area of New Haven. My family and I dined here for lunch while I was visiting CT for the holidays. Unfortunately, it would not an exceptional lunch. I was looking forward to the chicken pad thai, but the chicken was rubbery and overcooked, and the dish had little flavor. The rest of my... More

Visited her on a Sunday afternoon. It is a block from the Yale U. Art Museum. We had two appetizers including vegetable rolls (4) and fried tofu. Both were excellent, cooked perfectly, and delicious. We had six separate entrees, including vegetable siriachi, three lunch boxes, a pad thai entree and others. The meals were very well done and excellent. The... More

We visited here on a Saturday night at 7:30 pm. Our daughter had been here several times and liked it. It is in the basement of a building, and the restaurant looks old. It was fairly crowded, but there were open tables. We noticed many individuals picking up carryout orders, so it seems like a popular restaurant. We do not... More

We read all the reviews for Thai restaurants in New Haven so expected this place to be good (we weren't expecting fireworks). It was average... We got a table, made our order, we were moved to accommodate a larger group, then our starter came, well before our drinks. Drinks arrived after asking two more times, and starter was ok. The... I went there today with high hopes. Thee were several dishes I wanted to try but as this was a first visit at lunch I just ordered chicken pud Thai. Sadly this was very blah. Sweet, no heat, not punch in the flavor. it was OK but I will not be back to try the rest of the menu as... More
