We waited and waited and waited some more. The hostess kept saying 15 more minutes, but it was worth the wait. Great pizza and decent beer choice made the wait tolerable. I would recommend to just about anybody.

BAR and Modern Apizza have been my 2 favorite places for pizza in New Haven for more than a decade. And I say this having lived a few blocks away from Pepe's and Sally's. But I think they may have grown too big for their own good. Tonight I ordered 2 large pies and a large salad to bring home... More

Had a nice pint served by a very helpful and attractive bar lady. Cost was reasonable and place was very nice.

Great red sauce. Nice thin crust. Relatively fast service. Not enough salads on the menu. It's a bit loud for lunch, but it's that kind of place. Vegan options available too!

We got a couple of pizzas for a table of 7 guys. The pizzas showed up looking like window panes. But, a hunger person could eat a couple of square feet of this stuff. The bill was enormous. So, the value per person was pretty low. Decent scenery in the place and the craft beer was pretty good.

Takeout was hot and tasty. The guy at the window was helpful and friendly. It looked like a fun place to eat in as well and we will come back.

I entered the this place an was told that i should sit at THE BAR since I was dining alone??? Female bartender advised that I should have sat in the dining area?? but quickly made up for the miscue at the front with SUPER service and one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. She suggested Tabasco and it was... More

"BAR" came highly recommended by locals. As a place to drink microbrew beer, it's fine. As a pizza place, it is lacking. The pizza is average thin crust, and was a little singed. Not a place I'd eat again unless dragged along by a crowd.

We love this place. Their real brick oven pizzas are to die for. My favorite is mashed potato. I like to mix it with chicken and broccoli, it's delicious. But the wait time can be up to 1 hour if you don't have reservation.

I am very concerned that I may have experienced explicit racial discrimination for the first time at this establishment. I went to Bar for the first time to celebrate graduation from law school with a group of friends. The night was ruined by an inexplicably rude bartender. Even though I had not had anything to drink that night, the bartender... More
