Was recently in New Haven on a short business trip and had the distinct pleasure to spend an evening at BAR. While waiting for our table, read the menu and couldn't believe that they offered mashed potatoes as an option on a white pie. Really?? ...then started seeing pie after pie pass by to hungry diners. Boy, did it smell... More

Amazing pizza. Thin crust and sauce is great. Mash potato with garlic and bacon is to die for!! This place is right up there among the best pizza in New Haven. Parking right across the street. Usually not long of a wait. Highly recommend. Won't be disappointed.

Everyone knows about the pizza at Pepe's and Sally's, and a lot of people know about Modern, but Bar has some fantastic pizza, too. And the salad is to die for! I don't drink beer, so can't comment on their micro-brews, but friends tell me they are excellent, too.

Great pizza, great atmosphere. Tons of pizza topping and style options. Pizza is definitely one of the top 2 or 3 in new haven! Definitely recommend a visit!

Seems NH has the best pie and this place wont disappoint. Try the Potato Skin Pizza and then the Meatball one as well. Great beers, atmosphere but you might need to call ahead when you arrive

Yes, this place gets busy, especially on weekend evenings, but that is to be expected. The pizza is, in my opinion, delicious. Thin crust, the perfect balance of crispy & doughy. My favorite is the bacon-onion pizza - though everything is good. I won't pretend to be a beer connoisseur, but from what I hear it's pretty good, too.

I do not care too much for BAR. At most, the beers can be decent, but often they run out of the home brews on tap. Seating is impossible, they charge for cheese on pizza (WHAT?!?!) and every visit I've had (4x) the bartenders are snotty, rude and obnoxious. I would only every go because of a meetup, a friend's... Went to see a concert there and noticed that due to multiple office parties being held that every surface was covered in pizzas. And a wide variety of appealing variety to boot. They had that thin crust look that can indicate amazing pizza. So I ordered a plain cheese-it rivaled Vezzo in NYC (see other reviews). Thin crust, crispy, delicious... More
