We've been patrons of Ernies Pizza for almost 50 years now...and taking a bite of a pie today brings back memories of eating pizza as a kid! High quality cheese and meats make a great pizza. We tried the grilled green pepper and sausage pizza and my wife who doesn't like green peppers now has a new favorite pizza. We... More

We were visiting a friend in Middletown, CT and wanted to try New Haven pizza for the first time. My wife and our friend could have gone anywhere, but my search led us to Ernie's and the possibility of quality, gluten free pizza. When we arrived, we were greeted with the type of hospitality that you hope to experience at... More

I Ordered a small mozzarella and mushroom pizza. It came quickly and it was Quite a generous serving, can easily feed 2. Ingredients, especially cheese and mushroom, were of very good quality. Crust is crispy. A bit overcooked. Would have like a little extra salt. But I miss the wood oven fired pizza flavor. So, in its kind, a good... More

Everyone has different preferences for pizza. This was average. Not bad, but not great. Yes, ingredients are fresh, but just so-so tasting. Agree with earlier comment, dough needs a bit of salt. Service was very pleasant. We were near Yale and saw reviews for various pizza places in that area, but decided to try Ernie's. Hm...should we have stayed downtown?

My son pickup two pizzas for take-out! At home I open the boxes it was a hot burnt mess. Poor business practices.I would have never let anyone leave my shop with that mess.

Stopped into Ernies last night. Had not been there in 30 years. Was not sure what to expect. Well, we were very happy we did. The restaurant is still owned by the same family. The menu consists of Pizza , salad, wine and beer. The pizza was great. The staff was very friendly and the service was also great. Can't... More

Ernie's pizzeria is a very nice family owned and run business that makes a very good pizza. The ingredients are always fresh, the service is friendly and efficient and the prices are reasonable. One downside, if you like to save the crust til afterward and eat it on its own, you won't like Ernie's, his dough is bland (needs some... More

Remember it is a PIZZA place. Which is what they serve!!! We always go here when we do not want to handle the wait at Pepes. The pie is almost as good, a friend insist it is better. The service is GREAT. Value is better than Pepes.

Their fresh broccoli rabe and clam pie and garlic is THE best tasting pie. Accomodating staff, immaculate clean and Pat maybe the nicest owner left in the pizza business. In an era of fast food, cheap ingredients for the sake of quality and cost,Ernies makes italians proud!!!
