I had been told by family and friends to try Ernie's pizza, they all indicated that it was very good. We purchased our first pizza last week, finding the the ingredient, sauce, pepperoni, cheese was of high quality, and the pizza was cooked properly, not too rare or burnt.. Only issue we had was with the crust, it appears that... More

We moved to Florida 10 years ago from CT, there is no pizza here to even compare with New Haven area pizza. I am very happy here in Florida, except for PIZZA. I love Ernies, and always head for pizza as soon as the plane lands. Ernie's was the closest to where we lived, it was always so good and great... More

As an Italian, I've great expectations when it comes to pizzas. I've had the luck to try this place many times and I've gotta say...I like it! I really like the dough, which makes the difference, and I can't wait to come back!

I grew up in NYC, which makes it hard to find good pizzas anywhere else in the US. Ernie's in New Haven solved that for me. Thin crust, just spicy enough sausage and plentiful toppings. Great family staff that really is welcoming.

We've been patrons of Ernies Pizza for almost 50 years now...and taking a bite of a pie today brings back memories of eating pizza as a kid! High quality cheese and meats make a great pizza. We tried the grilled green pepper and sausage pizza and my wife who doesn't like green peppers now has a new favorite pizza. We... More

We were visiting a friend in Middletown, CT and wanted to try New Haven pizza for the first time. My wife and our friend could have gone anywhere, but my search led us to Ernie's and the possibility of quality, gluten free pizza. When we arrived, we were greeted with the type of hospitality that you hope to experience at... More

I Ordered a small mozzarella and mushroom pizza. It came quickly and it was Quite a generous serving, can easily feed 2. Ingredients, especially cheese and mushroom, were of very good quality. Crust is crispy. A bit overcooked. Would have like a little extra salt. But I miss the wood oven fired pizza flavor. So, in its kind, a good... More

Everyone has different preferences for pizza. This was average. Not bad, but not great. Yes, ingredients are fresh, but just so-so tasting. Agree with earlier comment, dough needs a bit of salt. Service was very pleasant. We were near Yale and saw reviews for various pizza places in that area, but decided to try Ernie's. Hm...should we have stayed downtown?
