I went to Miya's sushi for dinner last night after a long time. I knew they had changed the menu and did not know what to expect. I went with a Groupon for a dinner of two and 16-course sushi. It was absolutely one of the best dining experience I have ever had. They really care about the food they... More

My husband and I were in New Haven teaching a workshop at Yale and wanted to get together with friends we hadn't seen in a while who lived in the area. Since we had never been to Yale, we asked for a recommendation and our friend Brian made reservations for us all at Miya's. As soon as you walk in... More

I've been coming here for 10 years, starting when I lived down the block. In that time the menu has changed, but the quality has not. Be warned, this is NOT a place to come for the dishes you get everywhere else (eg. California rolls, tuna, salmon). Miya's has always pushed the boundaries of expected flavor combinations- in all the... More

Where do I even begin? This place is a gem. All the ingredients are local and the chef is truly an artist. The miso soup is the best I've ever had and the sushi as well. The menu includes a lot of great information and you'll quickly notice how great the prices are too. If I could give this place... More

We came here for my son's birthday and the staff were very attentive and caring. We enjoyed the Japanese style tapas portions and the range of unusual creations, including some made with peanut butter. They boast being the home of "weird sushi" and they are correct. I truly enjoyed the fried chicken appetizer, although I would have preferred it to... More

Had to push my way through the college crowd to get into this restaurant and meet up with my friend. Never have been in a place this packed and noisy. Was hard to carry on a conversation with my dining partner, and the waiter was extremely busy but very accommodating. Never knew sushi could be made with potatoes and shrimp-... More

Very busy restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The food is different in that they follow an "ocean friendly" theme so you do not get the traditional tuna/salmon etc. But delicious nonetheless. And there sake selection is great!

I used to love going here because I could get amazing avocado/arctic char rolls, miso soup, and FREE RICE for under 6 dollars and take it home if I wanted. Then, all of a sudden, a dark cloud of sushi despair rolled over Miya's last year... They sporadically started to close up shop to do some interesting remodels and established... More

Miya is a good idea, but they have tried too hard to be unique. While the food was pretty good, it came across as a little pretentious to me. The service was slow and the prices a bit high. I'd go back, but not my first choice for sushi.

I had the weirdest rolls ever at Miya's... weird in a good way. Different, eclectic... I've never had sushi like it before! The specialty rolls are very pricey, but worth a try! I love the "every day" roll with bacon in it! So different, so fun, and a great place to go on a double date with another couple. Great... More
