Delicious and my first time

Fresh ingredients, a sever who described each item in detail, delicious beverages and the dessert with coconut ice cream was delicious. Many types of sushi with different veggies and fish. This was my first time at Miya and I hope to go again.....

I'm not sure how to rate this place. If you're looking for a straight up, good, typical sushi dinner, run, don't walk, away from this place. On the other hand if you're tired of the same old same old and want something different and experiemental, this is your place. It is a fairly small restaurant with a very bohemian vibe,... More

Fresh and healthy ingredients, love the multi grain rice. The miso pumpkin soup with seaweed is so tasty! Firecracker sake explodes in your mouth. The salad is amazing and so is the Tokyo Fro for an appetizer. Sweet potato and shiitake mushroom sushi rolls are delicious, as well as specialty rolls with goat cheese, pine nuts, grits, potato skins, dill... More

I have been eating at Miya's off and on for about 20 years and the one thing that stays consistent is that the service is inconsistent and sometimes very bad. Although this past weekend, it was greatly improved. The decor has been recently updated and all I can think about is a clam shack whenever I look at the sushi... More

In May of this year my husband and I attended a fundraiser called "Project Styles" at the New Haven lawn club. At the fundraiser, Miya Japanese Restaurant offered a dinner valued at over $500. We paid $1,000 for the dinner. Since that time we have been trying to schedule the dinner. Though we have made countless phone calls, and sent... More

This is definitely NOT your average sushi restaurant. And that's a good thing! The food here is always fresh and incredibly tasty. While they do have complete dinners on the menu, most of it is a la carte and this is what will drive up the cost of your meal. For 3 of us ( 2 adults, 1 child) we... More

Came looking for Sashimi take out. Asked if we could order to go, they said yes . Menu was like a small book. After 15 minutes of looking , we decided on a few choices that were the most popular pieces {recomended} . Gotta tell you, wasn't impressed... The Miso soup was outstanding !

Miya's is a distinctly strange restaurant in the most wonderful way. The service is excellent and the food is exquisite. Plan to take your time and open your mind. The sushi here is made from all sorts of ingredients; fish being optional in many of them. Even the soup is different -- it's a pumpkin miso, not just a standard... More

We often eat Sushi but we experienced whole new flavors and combinations at Miya's. We got the 17 course dinner with 5 sake tastings. The dishes were bursting with a cacophony of flavors. Exotic, fresh, unusual. If you have an open mind, and love to try anything once, then this is the place to have your next Japanese meal. The... More

This is an unusual restaurant with truly unique offerings of food and drink. Care and pride are evident in the ingredients and service. We had dinner to celebrate Yale graduation and left it to the chef to pick the offerings. We were not disappointed - it was fantastic. Ingredients included locally foraged plants and seafood transported to another level, prepared... More
