Busy night during Yale graduation. They did a great job getting families in and out without feeling too rushes.

I definitely enjoyed the salmon BLT for lunch here. Fresh ingredients, and served in a quick manner. This was a very good lunch restaurant, and I would love to come back here again. The service was above average.

Don't go to New Haven often to eat even though even 10 minutes away, mostly due to parking hassles and traffic, but went to see the Cherry Blossoms on wooster St. Nice spring day so went downtown to eat and walk around the Yale Campus. After walking up and down Chapel St. Zinc looked the most appealing. My wife had... More

We chose Zinc after a recommendation from a friend. It is located close to the green and parking is never easy when it is a wintery day. Once you are in the eatery...Wow! The decor and ambience feels like you stepped into a NYC restaurant. The food is freshly prepared with locally sourced ingredients from farms. The service was 5... More

We visited Zinc again last night (we live in downtown New Haven). We were delighted by the special entree: Wheat Berry Rissoto with bay scallops and shrimp. Prepared perfectly. Yum! Our Rioja paired well with the earthiness of the west berries. We finished with an artisan cheese plate, which comes with raisin bread and local honey. Zinc is always a... More

we were looking for a relaxing lunch in New Haven. We literally stumbled on Zinc. Lovely atmosphere for a quiet lunch. Service was 'okay,' food was better. I had the chicken with warm goat cheese salad for $15, so the price was pretty good. We would definitely return.

crowded, tight seating, food was good, the short ribs, after asking how fatty they weer and being assured they weren't, were incredibly disappointing. Overpriced. Not worth a return trip

Zinc has good intensions. The restaurant is billed as "modern American food", the service is friendly and the atmosphere warm and casual. However, we found the food a little disappointing. We started off by sharing a charred squid with mango, lime pickle, coconut milk and ginger cucumber which was truly delicious. My main dish, Cantoneese Duck with noodles in mango-plum... More

The menu provides an excellent variety of food for both lunch and dinner. The luncheon atmosphere and service are also excellent.
