This is clearly a trendy place but my foodie palette was disappointed. The shrimp small plate consisted of 4 tiny previously frozen shrimp doused with canned coconut milk for $14. The special squash soup (small bowl) was watery and tasteless for $8. The bread was interesting (I liked it). That and a glass of house-priced wine and I paid $34.... More

Last minute visit as we were passing through. Previous reviews were spot on too. From arrival to leaving the waiters were attentive, yet invisible. food was outstanding, we had a salmon, chicken and tuna and all were Jat great. Food was prepared with love and care. Over all 10/10 for everything.

I went with another guest to Zinc for my birthday, and boy was it amazing!! Even though we didn't have a reservation, the hostess squeezed us in; I like that. I ordered the hanger steak, cooked exactly to my order. My guest had the price fixe, which included a salad, lobster risotto and dessert. We had no wine or beverages,... More

This had to be one of the finest meals I have had in a very long time. The service and food were superb. The duck nachos and lettuce wraps were shared by the four of us, and that was a good idea. The portions are ample, but not overly huge. The pan seared scallops with lobster bits and corn chowder... More

Great food, excellent service in an upscale restaurant very close to the Yale campus. The scallops, fish, bread and desserts where particular winners with our group. Only downside is that the restaurant can be busy and noisy.

I've been going to Zinc since we first moved to New Haven in 2004. The food is exceptionally unique and delicious. Staff is excellent, quick and efficient without being overbearing. I've been during busy times (New Year's Eve and big Yale events) and slow times (summer) and the food and service are always spot on. Chef Denise Appel is a... More

I had salmon and the chef substituted black rice for rice beans and the result was delicious. He should add it to the menu. Very nice wine list also. I'd come again.

Wife and I met old friends here for dinner last night. From the moment we walked in we were taken care of. Late to reservation... No problem. We were seated immediately. Our waitress Abigail, a lovely young lady, was outstanding. She gave us our space without making us feel neglected. The food was super. From the wild greens salad, to... More

The most recent visit I made to Zinc was a few weeks ago to celebrate graduation with the family. We had made a reservation and were seated immediately when we arrived (despite the restaurant being packed). We had the organic greens salad to start with, and we had fish and pasta dishes between us. Everyone was very happy with their... More
