very enjoyable

we were looking for a relaxing lunch in New Haven. We literally stumbled on Zinc. Lovely atmosphere for a quiet lunch. Service was 'okay,' food was better. I had the chicken with warm goat cheese salad for $15, so the price was pretty good. We would definitely return.

crowded, tight seating, food was good, the short ribs, after asking how fatty they weer and being assured they weren't, were incredibly disappointing. Overpriced. Not worth a return trip

Zinc has good intensions. The restaurant is billed as "modern American food", the service is friendly and the atmosphere warm and casual. However, we found the food a little disappointing. We started off by sharing a charred squid with mango, lime pickle, coconut milk and ginger cucumber which was truly delicious. My main dish, Cantoneese Duck with noodles in mango-plum... More

The menu provides an excellent variety of food for both lunch and dinner. The luncheon atmosphere and service are also excellent.

I always get the duck nacho appetizer , it's great!!!. The wine selection is extensive, good and reasonable and the staff always offers a taste. The Zinc table is cool

Zinc has always been a reliable choice. But now Zinc should be a definite go-to. They are definitely on their game. On a cold February night, the food could not have been better. I had a stellar duck and noodle dish; my dining companions, the scallops. Both were exemplary and the service was knowledgeable and attentive. The menu is limited... More

Although pricey, like $30 for just an entree, and $12 for an appetizer, the food was delicious. The scallops with rice excellent, the spinach absolutely unique, and the tuna very good. Atmosphere informal but nice, staff friendly and efficient. Their wine menu leaves a lot to be desired though...they only have 1 chardonnay by the glass offered, and that pricey... More

Pricey with respectable quality, service and tastes. Our table of four ordered three appetizers and four dinners. No leftovers:)! Could offer more options for vegetarians but overall a lovely experience.

We were in New Haven for a play and, based on other reviews on Tripadvisor, made an early dinner reservation at Zinc. The space is hip but what really stands out is the food, American with a hint of Asian fusion (I had the hanger steak and my wife the cantonese duck; both were terrific). Until now, New Haven has... What started off a little on the wrong foot (we had reservations and the restaurant was maybe 1/5 full - the hostess took us to the way back room which was overlit and more for party use), turned totally wonderful to one of the best meals I've had in a restaurant in a long time. Be prepared to pay, but... More
