I never ever thought I could write a bad review about Modern. I have been going there for close to 30 years and have never had a bad pizza there. Normally when my husband and I go there we do not even need a menu since we always order the "bomb". It has a little of everything. Meat and veggies.... More

Thin crust, coal or wood fired oven, and the perfect balance of sauce and cheese to crust. Simple as that. Did a little survey, of locals, during a stay at YNHH, and about 80% said Modern has the best Pizza in town. In my opinion, they were correct. Simply the best!

For a large family gathering, we ordered a wide selection of about ten pizzas to go. All were excellent and arrived hot & tasty. Everyone was satisfied, both the vegans and the omnivores. And the pizzas (the two that were left) were equally wonderful the following morning. You won't go wrong at Modern.

This is the pizza my husband loves. I like it but he loves it. Recently they have drastically improved their salads, very good now. My daughter loves the calzone with meatballs. Best to go between normal meal times to get a table. Long lines form outside waiting for a yummy pie.

Wife and I ordered two small pies. The undersides were completely black, not dark but burnt black. Left in the oven too long. Waiter told us to send them back but we decided to go elsewhere. First and last visit and we're local!

Went to Modern Apizza today based on other reviews, Wow! Best clam casino pie ever. Thin crust, lots of clams, bacon and peppers, beautifully baked. Had clam pizza at Pepe's (Fairfield, CT) last week and there was no comparison. Pep's had fewer clams, large areas of dough with no cheese, and crust wasn't up to their usual. Service also great.... Came in from Houston and hit this place with my family and brother. We had four pies (plain cheese, pepperoni, clam, and the Italian bomb) and loved them all. I think we over ate but it was worth it.

If you love a great, thin sliced clam pie and your local neighborhood does not meet your needs then stop at this place on any trip south on 95 or 91. A few miles off the highway and well worth the trip. I would imagine it gets rather crowded. We waited about five minutes at 8:30 on a Saturday night... More

I found a place that surpassed my previous #1 pizza joint! I'm a little bum it's 30 minutes from home & has a tight parking space but it was worth the drive. I ate pickled hot cherry pepper pizza which tasted out of this world!

These pies are the real deal! The crust has an excellent "crumb" to it. Clearly their oven and crust recipe come together perfectly. The freshest and best toppings make a huge difference too.
