Very, very tasty pies. Local institution!

Let me add to the chorus of Pepe's fans...local institution worth visiting from wherever you are. Not fancy, not quiet, not much besides pizza...but they are very, very tasty. There were seven of us and we almost finished 2 large, a medium and a small. The group's favorite was one of Pepe's... read more

We were not yet aware of the reputation of Frank Pepe, when we accidentally walked in the street, three weeks ago, and at least 50 people were queueing on the curb outside (that was Saturday at 1 pm). Today we passed by one hour earlier, and decided to try out the world famous pizza. The place, with classical interior, was... More

Visited Yale for Bulldog days, had to go to Pepes Pizzeria, place was crowded but got in fast, service was great. Pizza was great. loved the sausage cut and not crumbled on the pizza. took a while to get our pizza, so they gave us a free small pizza to go which my son ate for breakfast in the hotel... More

I've been here twice when passing through New Haven, in July 2014 and April 2015. Both times the pizza was excellent. Wonderful crust, great sauce, great balance of toppings. On our last visit, there was a problem getting our pizza out of the oven (thin spot in the crust) and they decided to make a new one for us. But... More

Best pizza in the area...actually the best pizza that I have ever had! The wait to get in can be long but well worth the time that you stand in line. You can get just about any topping you like. Their salads are excellent too. Highly recommend! You have not had pizza until you have eaten a Frank Pepe pizza!

Love love and love. This is one of the best pizza places in the country. Go and check it out. We order the traditional with is without cheese and a pepperoni with roasted peppers. The traditional was eaten the fastest. Simplicity was the best. This place is not fancy but worth checking out. It has been in business since 1925.... More

We were lucky to find a place without a reservation (the second time 30 persons were waiting outside!). The pizza is great. I would recommend a pizza gluten free and some more choices for those that do not eat pizza but have children that do! The salad was also very good

We Enjoyed the pizza. Is it the best pizza I ever had? Not at all...I have had better pizzas tons of time . Was it worth going there? Yes, we enjoyed them, although the place was quite busy, we did not have to wait at all. We ordered three different pizzas. The Pepe Primavera was the best, margarita number two... More

This is basically a coffee shop with booths that serves pizza and salad. We got a pizza to take out because we had our dog with us. It takes about twenty minutes but you can call ahead. This is fabulous, delicious pizza, great crust, yummy topping. The secret is in the pizza oven and the guy with the long paddle... More

I'm not sure what the hype is, or why this is raved about. The crust is bland, and ranges from beautifully crisp to soggy (never consistent). The typing selection is slim, but the ingredients are of good quality. Definitely get the sodas, which are a nice touch. Nothing worth the price or an hour wait, there is much better pizza... More
