If you've never had a pizza cooked in a century-old, coal-fired masonry oven, you haven't really enjoyed pizza! Recently traveled to New Haven and enjoyed this tasty treat again. The white clam pizza rocked, but the sausage/onion pizza was even tastier-----but anything would taste great on THAT CRUST! Be prepared for the taste because some people think their pizza is... More

We're locals and we love the white clam the best but all the pies are excellent. Expect to wait for a table on weekends but worth it. If you can't wait, opt for take out. Ask for it half baked and finish cooking it at home. Awesome that way!

Just how pizza suppose to be..........love this place. Every pizza we get is great, thin crust, brick oven made. The clam and garlic pizza is killer good. Can't explain it but try it! I've been here many times, sometimes there is a short wait........but it's worth it. Be aware, they don't sell anything else except pizza, soda and beer.

We have been to Pepe's multiple times over the past 30 years and it, along with Sally's, ranks as the best thin crust Pizza that can be had in Connecticut or anywhere. Pepe's white clam pizza, however, beat's Sally's white clam version hands down. Except for Sallys, no other pizza place compares.

We went to Pepe's several time. Very often you have to wait for hours to get in. Does not matter how the weather is you are standing on the street, brrrr. Every time we went to Pepe's, the pizza's were burned and to crispy, maybe dry. I wrote a complain to them, but no answer at all...Also the pizza is... More

Really enjoyed the food and the casual atmosphere. The service was very good. The waiting area outside the dining area doesn't indicate what you're supposed to do. You are supposed to just wait out there and when a table is ready they come out and get the next people in line.

Went there after a tour of the Yale campus at the recommendation of the tour guide. Was not disappointed - it's just how I like pizza with thin crust. Coal fired oven makes it just right. Nice ambience - nothing pretentious.

I live right near Pepe's and have to say, the quality has diminished over time. Perhaps it's all the franchising, I don't know. Mind you, it's still and EXCELLENT pizza, but not as good as it once was!

Decided to try the clam pizza after hearing so much about it. Was frankly disappointed. The pizza crust seemed almost burnt and the combination of pizza and clams may be unique but in my humble opinion does not work.
