When driving through Wooster Street in New Haven you will find an abundance of Italian eateries, this is Little Italy, but only a few can generate the buzz or line that Sally's can. I lucky to live in a city with lots of good pizzerias, but Sally's is one of the best pie in New Haven. The pies come... read more

Look the pizza is normally really good. We arrived at 5:30pm and were seated by 5:40pm. Our order was taken right away..2 sodas a medium pizza with 4 toppings. About 6:20 I asked how much longer because we had a play to make. The waiter in his his shorts asked me if it was @ 8:00pm. I said no at... More

Sally's is my favorite. I love the atmosphere I live the attitude-filled service because they have never changed and are so consistent. And you can not imagine how consistently good the food is. One night after my family and a visitor ate at Pepe's we were kind of ashamed about always saying how good new haven pizza is. So we... More

For years, the "fued" over Sally's or Pepe's Pizza, both on Wooster Street in New Haven, has created a mystique among pizza aficionados in the area. I finally got to try Sally's. And I liked it. Very similar to Pepe's, get a distinct , subtle difference was noticed in their sauce. I now prefer Sally's but you should try it for... More

Sally's does not take reservations, (or so they say,) so here is what happens. I line starts to form on weekends before they open. Once they open, certain people are allowed in first, (so much for the no reservation policy.) Then the line is seated. If you do not get in on that first seating, or if you arrive shortly... More

Sally's and Pepe's made New Haven famous for Neapolitan Apizza. For years people fought over which one was better and for decades I could not make up my mind which I liked best. Today that decision is very easy to make. Sally's hands down. Still the original founding family with the same quality food and pride in their product. It... More

Haven't had Sally's in quite some time but my husband & I decided to give it a try. It was even better than we had remembered. I had the Poor Man's Pie and it was cooked perfectly and the sauce has such a great flavor. Every bite got better than the next. Not much in the way of atmosphere and... More

Indifferent and sometimes rude staff, dirty restroom is the size of a phone booth and opens up to the kitchen, limited menu. Reservations are not allowed so many times you are waiting in line outside. As you are waiting, regular customers will show up, pass the line and be seated immediately. I don't care. The minute one of these pies... More

After seeing Sally's and Frank's on a food channel, we figure we'd that a trek to Wooster street to try the pizzeria's of a family competition. My opinion is Sally's pizza had better flavor and held its ingredients on better. Sally's had a crisper texture, some in my family thought a little to crisp. It depends on your taste, then... More

Not what it use to be... It use to be one if the 3 top pizza places in New Haven... But a shadow of its former glory... Service and the pies were fair at best... Our mozz and sausage pizza was over covered with a thick layer of tomato sauce with little taste and our clam pizza was obvious canned... More
