The atmosphere is a bit exclusive at sally's. Intimate, wood paneling, and jumbled photos on the walls of the narrow joint on Wooster Street. The fresh mozz with tomato basil - by far best pizza i've ever had. better than peep's. yes i said it.

Born and raised in New Haven I return periodically. I would never miss an opportunity to indulge in my favorite "ah-beets" (New Haven-speak for pizza). I have even made my Brooklyn-born hubby a fan. Although Sally's neighbor, Frank Pepe's has been has been rated #1 consistently in both the N.H. and US pizza wars, both my husband and I agree... More

Sally on Wooster St, New Haven has great pizza. Frank Sinatra among other celebrities have eaten there. The only thing is the owner pass away and it was being sold with their recipe. Must check by to see if they updated the place inside.

This pizza place located in (very) Little Italy in New Haven or rather Wooster Street. Sally and Pepe's are the two restaurants in New Haven battling for the best pizza in the country. Be prepared to stand in line getting in to the restaurant for an hour and then wait for 90 minutes once you get your table. The restaurant... More

We've been in New Haven for the last month, eating at both Pepe's and Sally's. I have to say, the famous pizza war is over. It wasn't too busy yet, so we were seated right away at Sally's, but only after we'd ordered were we told that it would be a 45-minute wait. 90 minutes later we got our pizza.... More

We went to Pepes first, but the line was too long for us. Went to Sally's, and greeted and seated at once. The place has character. Loved the decor, the setting, the waiter. Pizza was delicious and actually reminded me of Napoli (thin crust, basic toppings). The crust was the best, definitely no factory crap but plain flour, water and... More

Was traveling thru CT, and had to stop and check out Sally's on Wooster St. HUGE sized pizza and tasted great. We waited in line before they opened up - and it was worth the wait.

For all the media attention this place received one would think the staff would be on their A game. But this is a poorly maintained pizza restaurant. Retro is one thing, but dingy, tacky and worn out is neglect, The staff barely smiles (unless you are regular), barely makes eye contact and the kitchen staff takes forever to deliver a... More

I love Sally's Pizza because it isn't greasy and it is thin and crunchy. A worthy rival of Pepe's, which is located down Wooster St.
