I'm from the midwest and have not experienced a restaurant like this before. I was told that I was not allowed to enter the building until I was invited in by one of the staff members. The staff may come off as rude to some, but I do not think that is their intention. The pizza was unbelievably delicious. I... More

We stopped by on a visit to Yale. The pizza is different from anything else. I'm not sure I've had such a thin and crispy crust. I've traveled here and there and this is some of the best. Our pizzas came out fast and service was attentive. The atmosphere was fun, very local and authentic, not a lot of tourists.... More

There's four big names when it comes to pizza in New Haven - Sally's, Modern, Bar, and Frank & Pepe's. Having tried all of these, I'd definitely put Sally's at the top of the list. Their tomato sauce is delicious and flavorful; the crust thin and well-cooked, every-so-slightly burned, dripping with delicious cheese. It's a family restaurant environment, so don't... More

I always drive out of my way to stop by for a pie. Yesterday I drove from Cape Cod and took the Bridgeport ferry instead of the much closer New London ferry just to get me a Sally's pie to bring back to LI. Very friendly staff and delicious pizza. Like Pepe's, but love Sally's! Definitely a local eatery for... More

We arrived at 3:55 pm for the 4 pm opening. There was already a line. The 3 of us made a small dent in our large pie. To go box needed! Thin crispy crust. No plates needed. Small beer selection. No wine. Cash only. Our waiter John tops!!

Don't walk, run to Sally's. It is so worth the wait. Delicious thin crusts , cold beer, great selection. Often crowded-- no surprise because it is so good. People of all sorts and conditions go there. Best white clam pizza in the country.

My boyfriend, and I had dinner at Sally's pizza. It was a very gay friendly environment. The pizza was excellent, the service was great, and the environment was very cozy. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants a comfortable, welcoming environment, accompanied by great food and smiling faces!

Not worth the wait. We were really disappointed with the pizza and the service, not to mention the place is run down and the servers don't care at all about their appearance. It was a huge turn-off all together. Definitely forgettable.

Sally's has been a family owned pizza restaurant since the 1920's. They do one thing and they do it outstandingly....make pizza. It's old school Italian...no reservations, no credit cards, no entrees just pizza. They don't have a lot of seating and it's very popular. The interior is clean but dated, that's part of the charm. It's casual for sure but... More
