We've been in New Haven for the last month, eating at both Pepe's and Sally's. I have to say, the famous pizza war is over. It wasn't too busy yet, so we were seated right away at Sally's, but only after we'd ordered were we told that it would be a 45-minute wait. 90 minutes later we got our pizza.... More

We went to Pepes first, but the line was too long for us. Went to Sally's, and greeted and seated at once. The place has character. Loved the decor, the setting, the waiter. Pizza was delicious and actually reminded me of Napoli (thin crust, basic toppings). The crust was the best, definitely no factory crap but plain flour, water and... More

Was traveling thru CT, and had to stop and check out Sally's on Wooster St. HUGE sized pizza and tasted great. We waited in line before they opened up - and it was worth the wait.

For all the media attention this place received one would think the staff would be on their A game. But this is a poorly maintained pizza restaurant. Retro is one thing, but dingy, tacky and worn out is neglect, The staff barely smiles (unless you are regular), barely makes eye contact and the kitchen staff takes forever to deliver a... More

I love Sally's Pizza because it isn't greasy and it is thin and crunchy. A worthy rival of Pepe's, which is located down Wooster St.

If you've never had New Haven pizza, you haven't lived. There are three of the best pizza parlors in the country all within just a mile or so of each other. Pepe's and Sally's are both on Wooster Street, New Haven's version of Little Italy, just steps from each other. Wooster Street is a great place to eat dinner, then... More

Located down the Street from Frank Pepe's, Sally's was started by Frank's brother. Its an amazing pie and some swear by it above all others. They are up for sale as of May 2014 proving all good things must come to and end. sally's never expanded like Frank's has in the last decade. Get it while you can, not sure... More

Something has been up with Sally's ever since the matriarch, Flo, died a year or so ago. They're now closed two days a week (Monday and Tuesday instead of just Monday), and the long long lines that used to form outside every night are noticeably shorter. Recently we learned that the restaurant is for sale. It appears the remaining family... More
