Most people who give bad reviewed expect it to be a nice high class restaurant because of the hype. this is a small pizza place and is a classics it is old and a not high class but the pizza is unbelievable and it is huge, they had to pull over another table just to fit 3 pizzas. Greatest pizza... More

Wooster Street on Wooster Square (Little Italy of New Haven), has a plethora of pizzerias - and Sally's is one of the most visible and popular. It's on the corner of Wooster and Chesnut, and there's a line of customers outside on the weekends starting around 4:00. Personally, I don't get it. It's gotta be the nostalgia of the pizza... More

We sat down right away but then had to wait 1.5 hours for our pizza. The waiter did not come over to us once during that wait. When we finally got the pizza it was bad. There was no flavor. Eat at modern apizza instead.

And here is why...quality and service. My favorite waiter ever Lorenzo, my favorite pizza ever the white potato pie. All I can say is go here as soon as you can. Highly recommended to go early or late because of lines. My favorite place on earth, my favorite restaurant, my favorite waiter.

For years, we have been driving almost an hour, then standing in line, then waiting for pizza, just to eat the world's best pizza. At the request of two granddaughters who were back in the area last week, we did it again, although without the long wait outside. Yes, the place needs a serious facelift, the ladies room is disreputable,... More

The best pizza we had for ages and cheap! Nice dining where locals eat! 10 min walk from downtown. Worth the effort and a total contrast to the chains!

I'm from the midwest and have not experienced a restaurant like this before. I was told that I was not allowed to enter the building until I was invited in by one of the staff members. The staff may come off as rude to some, but I do not think that is their intention. The pizza was unbelievably delicious. I... More

We stopped by on a visit to Yale. The pizza is different from anything else. I'm not sure I've had such a thin and crispy crust. I've traveled here and there and this is some of the best. Our pizzas came out fast and service was attentive. The atmosphere was fun, very local and authentic, not a lot of tourists.... More

There's four big names when it comes to pizza in New Haven - Sally's, Modern, Bar, and Frank & Pepe's. Having tried all of these, I'd definitely put Sally's at the top of the list. Their tomato sauce is delicious and flavorful; the crust thin and well-cooked, every-so-slightly burned, dripping with delicious cheese. It's a family restaurant environment, so don't... More
