The best thing about Atticus is that they make just about everything they serve -- bread, soups, baked goods, salad dressings. The food is consistently good and is made with high-quality ingredients. It doesn't hurt that it has a nice bookstore as well, with knowledgeable and helpful staff. It's small, but they will happily order anything you like. It's a... More

Enjoyed some time perusing the wonderful books, greeting cards and more in this quaint little shop! Then enjoyed a delicious lunch in the café! Broccoli Quiche was very tasty and a generous portion. Chabaso bakery baked goods - many options for treats and lunch / breakfast! Can't go wrong! When your belly is full here, jump across the street to... More

A great place to stop for a coffee and a nosh -- especially if you are also visiting the Yale British Museum next door. Nothing fancy, but a great spot to catch your breath. You can browse the books as well.

I loved that half of the shop has a library with the ceiling as part of a greenhouse...am I making any sense? But view is scenic to the streets of downtown New Haven. It has a cozy effect. And the food was great overall. I've only been here once, but I'll try to stop by more often

This is a great book store with a nice eatery attached, the perfect way to pass a lazy afternoon in New Haven.

My favorite place for coffee, salad, soups. Their baked goods are fabulous, try the breads, cookies, or pastries. Great place to shop for unusual book titles, unique cards or gifts.

We love to go to Atticus for Lunch. Conveniently located in front of the Yale Art Gallery, at the corner of Chapel and High Street, Atticus is a great bakery, a fun Bookstore and most importantly a fun place to go to lunch. It works for all kind of lunches, fun lunches with the girlfriends, romantic lunches with a date,... More

This is still a small general bookstore (with some nice historic vinyl LPs -- jazz and rock), but I'm recommending it for its breakfast or lunch. Bean soup and salad were very tasty -- with a nice variety of other menu choices. I liked the ambiance: busy, with small tables and the right level of hubbub and mix of people... More

My friends and I stopped for pastries and coffee as an afternoon pick-me-up at Atticus and loved every bite and sip. They may not have the widest selection of pies/cookies/etc. ever, but what they do have is high quality. And of course the surroundings couldn't be better-- all those amazing books to ogle. It can be crowded-- and mid-afternoon on... More

Whenever I'm in New Haven and have time to kill I stop in to Atticus to read and have some black bean soup. Never disappoints.
