Delicious vegetarian options

After a 5 to 20 minute wait we were seated. Ordering was relatively quick and food appeared in a reasonable period of time. We enjoyed black bean soup and roasted red pepper soup with feta. Both were delicious. The club sandwich (huge) as well as the butternut and kale open faced sandwich were... read more

Great soups, bread and baked goods in an easily accessible downtown location. And then, there are the books! A wonderful place to get lost for a few hours.

Often crowded and busy, but still worth the wait and congestion. Centrally located and near (actually under) one world class Art Museum (British Art Museum) and directly across from another (Yale Art Gallery). Be seated at the counter or one of the cafe tables. It is inside a very nice bookstore with a friendly waitstaff. The black bean soup is... More

We took refuge here for breakfast on a cold wet morning in November. Very cosy with a nice atmosphere. Lovely fresh food and good coffee. The only slight negative was the length of time it took to get our food, glad we weren't in a rush.

I stop every morning for my breakfast treats, and it is my go-to bookstore in New Haven. If I want to order either a book or music, I always do so through Atticus rather than buying through mega-Amazon. Most people probably don't know that you can order CDs through Atticus. Mostly I love the atmosphere, and the smells.

Loved the scones and coffee here. Good service too! Scones sell out so get here quickly. The bookstore area was nice too. Big selection.

We made a quick trip to New Haven and walked some of the campus. We stopped her for lunch. It was wonderful. The soups and sandwiches are delicious and we got bakery items to carry with us. It is so worth the stop!!

When I am in New Haven doing research at the Beinecke, I eat lunch at Atticus almost every day. There is counter service for single diners, and the soups, salads, and sandwiches are excellent. I often browse the books and cards, too. Although they have recently added wine and beer, I wouldn't recommend Atticus for dinner. They don't do a... More

reasonably priced and a great place to go after visiting the Yale Art Gallery. Great bread and a nice space to relax and just soak up the atmosphere.
