Great for a lunch or coffee right across the street from the Yale Art Gallery

great for lunch or a quick coffee; the daily soups are excellent. I would do the half sandwich and soup any day. My pear and arugula salad were kind of soggy but it was late for lunch. The minestrone soup excellent as was the corn chowder which were specials. Great bookstore as well.

We were pressed for time after visiting the Yale Art gallery and this place happened to be perfectly located right across the museum and suited us with their fast service. They have sandwiches, soups and salads. Nothing extraordinary, just good solid fare. Good choice of local beer.

I visited this restaurant for the first time in years with my husband and 2 young children. There were a lot of great menu options and it was hard to choose only one. Our waitress was really accommodating with our 2 young children. She had the foresight to bring a small plate of bread to the table as we waited... More

Great selection of salads, soups and sandwiches. Also yummy pastries to tempt you. The strawberry and goat cheese salad was excellent.

Cool setting, eating surrounded by a bookstore - and an independent one no less. However, they do pack the tables so things are a bit tight. As other reviewers note, service is slow. As long as you are not in a rush, you'll be fine. Food was good, Since the place seems to always be bustling, it is a New... More

The idea of the Atticus Bookstore/Café is terrific. Light food - mostly bakery items - and beverages at the side of a bookstore. Barnes and Noble has been doing it for years and it works terrifically. The problem with Atticus is really just the physical building. It's not very big. So the tables are squashed together - god forbid you're... More

Many wonderful options for a light lunch, including creative vegetarian ones. Many tables require a party of four. Important not to be in a rush, because service seems so, so slow. Unfortunately, we were on a limited conference break, so eating became rushed.

Once you've found the perfect coffee shop, lunch spot, dinner place, why risk going anywhere else? Sandwiches were lovely, soup amazing, coffee perfect, and breakfast? I'm about to find out.

Being a book lover this was just great. The only thing that could have improved it would be for the book shelves to move along every 15 minutes so you could read the covers and spines of different ones throughout the meal. Food was good too.

The food we ate was stale, the coffee was ok but the bookshop is well worth supporting (when there is a barnes and noble around the corner).
