Come for the tacos, stay for the tacos.

Notwithstanding our desire to try other things on the menu, we keep ordering the same items: tacos, guacamole and tamales of the day. The atmosphere varied from spot to spot in the place, but it was good. The guac was good, but a little chunky. The chip were alright. The tacos were just plain amazing.

I met a friend at Oaxaxa Kitchen because of its location in the heart of New Haven. Our server, Jon was friendly and attentive and we sat outside on a warm October night. Chips and salsa were good - although not free - $5.95, which is reasonable I guess... I had the enchiladas and my friend had steak tacos and... More

Had a last minute meal before concert and the food was very good. Shrimp cerviche was excellent, the fajitas very authentic served with rice and beans was ample enough for 2 and my salada mixta with steak cooked to perfection

Pros: This is almost average mexican food. That being said there are the familiar options presented in the familiar way with a taste that is just below average for mexican restaurants. Cons: Inattentive service and expensive price tag for the quality. Summary: I was fooled by the name and thought there would be something special about this restaurant. I was... More

Am suppressed still in business. Bad service and poor excuse for Mexican food. Drinks were okay and was there for Cinco De Mayo last year. Will never go again. I cannot go back to May of 20014 when last there.

Had dinner at Oaxaca last evening before the Beach Boys Concert. The three enchilada platter was fabulous! My only critique is it was too much food and since we were going to a show we could not take leftovers. My suggestion would be for the Chef to take a look at his menu and incorporate some flexibility and a little... More

Stopped here for dinner on our first night in New Haven. Served very quickly and chose a few different things. Slight mix-up with what we were brought but nothing to worry about and the wait staff were lovely and sorted things without any hassle to us. Margarita packed a punch. Generous portions, fresh and delicious.

No taste at all. Nothing else to say. If you are in the mood for fun with friends, go somewhere else. It is not very often that I am disapointed like that by a restaurant.

Enjoyed sitting at the bar after the New Haven Flights of Fancy event. My beef taco was excellent and I enjoyed the chips/salsa. Each time I go I get the tres leche cake but this time the cake was NOT the same. The cake was dry and the moisture from the various milks was not there either. I was disappointed.
