We ate here twice in the past week, and loved it. We love Indian food, but prefer South Indian, which seems harder to find. The folks here are friendly, the service is good, the food is great, and there is a nice selection on the menu. We ate a late lunch on a weekday, and the Sunday brunch. Most of... More

When we go we always go for a buffet as you can probably order the whole menu and taste everything. The food is ok but you can try different dishes. The ambience is nice and the place is kid friendly.

Just coming back after dinner at Thali Too with my wife. I know we went in pretty late but that is not an excuse for some very ordinary food. Being a South Indian and knowing the taste of most of the authentic South Indian delicacies, I was extremely disappointed with the sambar vada they offered. The poori and sabji had... More

I am an Indian and this was my first time at an Indian restaurant in US and after having gone to various Indian Resto's in US, this is by far the best Indian rest. Its the closest you can have to Indian food. They have amazing masala dosa's,chole bhature and desserts. Mango kulfi is to die for. The usual North... More

My 2 friends and I had the most delightful time with host and waiter Kumar. Not only did he explain the menu but he did a great job finding something my spice-sensitive friend could eat. The waitstaff was always around the corner (for water, which is a pet peeve of mine if not filled) but not intrusive. The menu was... More

This restaurant is one of the best I have ever been to for South Indian food. I am a pretty picky indian food eater, and my test is always: "Could I make it better at home?" Their dosas and well, everything, is terrific! Nearly everything passes my test, even the spinach paneer. They have never been so crowded that I... More

It wasn't a typical buffet were you go and stand in line with a plate. The choices were off a small menu. It gave a variety of taste, types, and areas of cooking recipes throughout India. It really made me happy to have such an experience since visiting India two other times in my life. The waiter was very pleasant.... More

Had dinner here the other night on the outdoor patio while we watched Yalies moving into their dorms. Food is great and so is the atmosphere. The waitstaff were friendly and competent but it was never clear who exactly was going to take care of us. They have several dosas to choose from and everything on the menu is vegetarian.... More

My boyfriend kept me from this place for a long time by telling me how awful Indian food was. Well, I set a lunch date with a girlfriend of mine to try out Thali Too and we both loved it! My friend has a love for India and its culture so it was great that our server was authentic and... More

When you ask about Indian food in New Haven, everyone seems to be obsessed with Thali and its (much) less expensive, vegetarian sister restaurant, Thali Too, but personally, I'd take Zaroka any day over either of these places. Both Thalis make their lentils way too spicy in my opinion - seems like a minor issue but when you consider the... More
