My wife and I have wanted to eat at Caseus for a long time. Quite frankly, it seemed to be a bit intimidating given its small size and what appeared to be a very limited menu. When we saw that they offer classes on Mondays, we seized the opportunity to check the place out in a controlled setting. We were... More

This is our fourth visit here, and every time we go away happy. We arrived first thing Saturday night so we could sit outside on the lovely patio. No reservations here, so nice to arrive early to snag a great spot here. The waitress Sarah L. is energetic, efficient and knows the menu and wine. She is very knowledgeable of... More

You pay for the nice atmosphere and the choices of cheese. The wine list is very limited. Hinesly, for the same price of a dinner you can get cheeses for the rest of the season... Both with the cheeses and the charcuterie selection I had the same impression: a couple of really good and original choices (the pates were delicious,... More

Whether it's lunch or dinner, seated inside, outside, bar room or restaurant, Caseus is the best. Superb and creative light, medium, and large offerings. Cheese is a dominant theme. Wine list awesome. You'll probably need a reservation.

This is one of the most popular restaurants in New Haven. You always need a reservation, even for lunch. It fills a basic need in New Haven--a bistro style restaurant. The classics are superb: steak frites, mac and cheese-- their chicken dish is simple perfection all the time.Last time I went, it was a cold, icy slushy night and we... More

You don't have to have any mousy tendencies to like this place. Everything was wonderful from the apps, soup, the toasted cheese sandwich or Mac and Cheese. Food was delicious, its a tad pricey and only the parking is on the street( bring your quarters). The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, helpful and did not rush our party of four out... More

OK, the beer was actually called "Le Fin du Monde." But if it really was the end of the world, I'd want to go out with a belly full of Caseus's mac and cheese. I've tried making it at home but they do something special to it that makes it absolutely amazing! It comes with a side salad that complements... More

If you like cheese, this is your trap. The food is excellent and very fun. The service is wonderful. Make sure you make reservations. Close to Peabody Museum. Plan for a lunch after a visit with the dinosaurs.

I have always wanted to dine here after reading about it . I read an article in the Hartford Courant about the charcuterie plate. I was able to secure a last minute reservation which proved to be my lucky day! We sat in The bar area and had a FANTASTIC waitress Sarah. She is knowledgable and attentive . The food... More
