A local eatery and so much more

Caseus has an interesting menu. There have been a number of specials there that have made me reconsider my life choice to not be a professional chef. I had a fried rice dish with pork belly and a fried egg for lunch one day. It was so good, I went back for dinner with my wife to get it again.... read more

My family, friends, boyfriend and I love this restaurant. The menu is local and seasonal. Last weekend I ordered the Texas Antelope Meatloaf served over spaghetti squash with pureed sweet potatoes and it was bursting with flavor. We shared an order of poutine, which never disappoints. Service is always very friendly; however, this is not a dinner you rush through.... More

We were headed to a hockey game at the Whale and chose Caseus for pregame. We asked to sit at the bar with no reservations and we were seated in about half an hour. We started with an IPA for me and a Chianti for my wife. I had the Onion Soup, which is really stellar and I loved the... More

Yes, we were outside in December! The weather was outstanding - perfect pairing to go with the food. A potpourri of different beers, to start, to go alongside our cheese board. All the cheeses were fresh, unique, and full of flavor. Next course, French onion soup rounded out with the burger(opted to add the bacon and fresh egg, as well).... More

The best cheese restaurant ever. Onion soup with gooey gruyere, grilled cheese on fabulous bread oozing cheese, excellent french fries, what's not to love here? Pick up some terrific cheese in their shop downstairs, which features specialty items like Vacherin from Switzerland, available only during the winter months.

I've been here twice. One solo for lunch and another with a group for a birthday. The good was amazing both times. It really is an experience. You won't leave hungry! If you're lactose intolerant, take your lactose pills ahead of time. The best dishes have cheese in them. Even for lunch when I order a grilled cheese sandwich (with... More

We had dinner here a few days ago and enjoyed their Cheese Board (4 cheeses) with breads tremendously. Their beers are also quite good. Lettuces, veges and even beers are local as are some of the breads which is commendable. We ate their MacnCheese which is also quite good. We enjoyed other foods as well BUT TOO much salt! My... This is a very New Haven type of place. It is casual but not a $9.99 lunch either. I am very happy when I see these types of restaurant pop up in New Haven. The food was good. Although a bit salty, so you may want to tell the server to ask the chef to go easy on the salt.... More

We finally managed to have a meal at Caseus, after talking about it for months, and we were not disappointed. The cheese array is unbelievable, and perfect for vegetarians. We were lucky enough to get the specials before they ran out; the potato/cheese soup was divine and the beet pasta dish was perfectly seasoned. The awesome grilled cheese and the... More

I saw this place covered by the food channel and knew I had to go. Cheese board appetizers was great but that Mac & cheese was a beautiful thing! They have several options to add to it and I asked what would blow me away? They had just started adding PULLED PORK to the dish recently and it was amazing!... More
