On our way from Philadelphia to Boston and it was lunchtime in New Haven, our off the cuff survey sent us here. How bad could it be and only 1/2 mile from Rt 95 so convenient. Well... The food was fabulous. We sat at the bar as the place was reserved full for Lunch. The food was all lovingly prepared... More

Best tomato soup I've ever had - a little bit of spice to it, creamy, rich, but not heavy. Delicious! Also loved the mac and cheese, frites, cheese board. Attentive staff. Portions were very generous and pricing reasonable. We'll be back!

I've been dying to try this restaurant. Tuesday, 1/13/15, I was able to, my daughter and I went in.. It is very small but has a good atmosphere. We ordered the Poutine, it was absolutely amazing. We could have been done and this would be a great review. However, we split a grilled cheese. It was not that great. The... More

Caseus is a great spot and I have had a number of great meals there. Today I was there for lunch, Saturday, January 3rd and there wasn't a sense of urgency with the servers like there usually is. To boot, there is a newer busser dressed in an army green tshirt (glasses and a green shirt) who barely makes eye... More

Caseus has a small menu but usually also has a few specials. If one of the specials sounds good, go for it. They're often the most creative and interesting items available for the day. But the regular menu also has reliably tasty fare, the mussels and poutine are probably my favorites. Casual enough for everyday lunch; nice enough to impress... More

Busy place at lunch time but was worth the wait. We were a family of four and shared some plates. Mac and cheese with all kinds of cheeses, the Grilled Cheese was awesome, extremely tasty. Fries were hand made and fried in Peanut oil. plus the beet salad was splendid and extremely fresh. I also had the gazpacho which was... More

Was here for lunch one day - really enjoyed the soup of the day, which was a creamy cauliflower and cheese soup. My husband enjoyed his mac and cheese thoroughly! Looking forward to coming for dinner one day and also sampling their wine list.

Truly inspired casual food, many using their extensive cheese offerings at the little shop attached to the restaurant. Divine burgers, Mac n cheese, many unusual specials. Excellent micro brew beer selection. The staff is very well informed about the food, including ingredients and makes good recommendations. A New Haven institution worthy of the rep.

On two occasions I have been to Caseus, once with family and once for a professional dinner. It is partnered with a cheese shop and its fare features many original dishes, ranging from down home to gourmet. If you like mac and cheese, don't pass up Caseus' version. However, at the professional dinner when we asked to order dessert, we... More
