Very Yummy

Surely one of the nicest place in New Haven. Excellent food, nice cozy atmosphere and very good wine. We met two other couples for dinner; one of them was very familiar with the restaurant. We were early and while waiting asked for bread and butter. I think the waiter was insulted that we didn't want the butter of the day. Overall the food was excellent; I particularly liked the beet and quinoa salad. Ramps were the specialty of... More

I had the opportunity to dine here on the weekend with relatives in Connecticut. The kale and apple salad I had was very fine. Portion could have been a little bigger, but the price wasn't too prohibitive. Blue cheese was yummy. I do have to say we were impressed by the friendly server.

we were traveling through New Haven and stopped in here for lunch. We arrived at 11:30am on a Friday. We did not realize that the place might be fully booked for lunch. Fortunately, we ended up getting the last table in the basement by the Cheese cooler. My hubbie had the Mac and Cheese and I had the French Onion... More

Small place so hard to get a table but definitely worth the wait! Excellent beer and wine list. We had the poutine..yummy gravy with delicious cheese curds. The grilled cheese was oozing with outrageously delicious cheese. There was so much cheese that oozed out and grilled to perfection. The Mac and cheese did not disappoint! Can't wait to get back!

Tucked away on a corner in a neighborhood of brownstones, this place oozes both cheddar and charm. Warm atmosphere, a jar of homemade cornichons on the table, and a cheese-focused eclectic menu made for a great experience. Steak tartare, sardines and clams steamed in beer and the painfully obvious mac-and-cheese choice are all top notch. Friendly service rounded out a... More

A very special place for lunch (they also have dinner hours) and absolute heaven for cheese lovers! Not a big menu, some things are a bit pricey, and not a place for a quick bite (and you probably need reservations) but top quality ingredients, inventive/different offerings and a classy yet casual setting. Five of us had lunch. First we split... More

The food is o.k, expansive, but not much special. You could have a better and cheaper dry meat or cheese in other place. The restaurant is small and dirty looks/low ceiling. We will first time in New Haven and read others reviews on this restaurant, but we were very disappointed.

This is one of the best restaurants in New Haven. They always have a nice selection of specials. Head over to their FaceBook page and take a look at the pictures you won't be disappointed.
