My Favorite Seafood Dinner in Fairfield County: The Sea Bass with Mojo Sauce

This is my new favorite place to eat for seafood in Fairfield County. The mojo sauce (garlic and lime) on the sea bass (thanks to sever Julie for recommending) and the shrimp with mojo sauce are great dishes. Love the casual vibe and open kitchen (where all the chefs are smiling). The best table is... read more

Farmer's Table was great in its first location. It was original, convivial, had friendly service and truly great simple food. This was my second visit to the new location (across the street) and on both occasions I found that it had lost its charm. However, this time the food was frankly humdrum and the service staff was either tired or... More

It is easy to believe that everything served was just brought in from the farm. The seafood chowder was full of vegetables and crab and shrimp. It had just a hint of spiciness. The lentil soup with chorizos, also with a hint of spiciness, was just as great. The brown rice stir fry was loaded with fresh broccoli, cauliflower, celery,... More

It is good to know that the Farmer's Table can seat more guests. It is not good news to withstand the noise of the place. It is not clear if this is due to the increase in diners or poor acoustics, I could not hear my fellow diner right across the table. It now has a liquor license and offers... More

The Farmer's Table began life as a 12-14 seat restaurant and market on Forest Street in a tiny space with a teensy dining room, a teensy kitchen and absolutely amazing food. Owner Chef Robert Ubaldo and his wife were a bit reluctant to start their own place, him having earned his chops at Southwest Cafe in Ridgefield and Tequila Mockingbird,... More

This small restaurant is very enjoyable, IF you go early before it gets really busy. When it fills up, the noise is deafening. We greatly enjoyed the black bean soup, but the sautéed mushrooms were under seasoned in the baked goat cheese and mushroom appetizer. The cheese plate was very generous, with at least 5 different cheeses, but the waiter... More

My wife and I had dinner here with friends on a recent Saturday night. In general, I would have to say that most of the dishes we had were quite good but there were a few notable exceptions. My wife enjoyed her salad and I enjoyed my butternut squash soup. Two of us had the shrimp mojo and that was... More

Be prepared for good food served by friendly staff with everyone around you talking loudly. Our group of four had difficulty hearing each other as the acoustics are simply awful. Having said that we enjoyed their pork Tacos, lamb and grilled shrimp salad. Their home made bread is excellent. We wanted dessert but the noise was too high to linger... More

My husband and I walked around New Canaan and we decided we would try Farmer's Table. We saw the hostess (or perhaps an owner, not sure, an older woman) and she advised us the restaurant was full but if we were brave, we were more than welcome to take an outside table. It was just a little chilly but totally... More
