Good food but way over priced

Been there several times. The food is good, but not stellar. I enjoyed it, but would not go out of the way because it is expensive for what you get.

Went on a Saturday night and when we got there the parking lot was almost full, maybe not such a good night to be there? Wrong! Went to the hostess to give our name and she said come with me I will seat you now. OK she sat us quick, but with a room full of people there had to... More

The food, and environment here are still outstanding. We try to visit this establishment with every visit to Connecticut. The last visit was a Thrusday evening, and it was almost deserted. It is definitely a lot more entertaining with the hall filled.

We are spoiled with 3 great German restaurants in the Springfield MA area, The Student Prince, Hofbrauhaus, and Munich House. My inlaws wanted to do a family dinner at a German restaurant they liked in New Britian called East Side. The atmosphere was decent but I prefer the Student Prince. The draw to this place seems to be wearing stupid... More

Awesome breakfast. I've gone here at least 20 times for breakfast. I've never had a bad meal here. Service is good, menu is great. The place to go for breakfast. I'll have to try dinner. FRAN C

Wonderful German atmosphere and food. A little pricey, but the special dinner included a lot. The German veal meatballs with spaetzel and gravy special dinner was about $26 but included soup as well as salad, two veggies, and dessert, so that helped make up for the price. Mashed carrots were spiced uniquely and very good. Potato pancakes with apple sauce... More

Definitely worth trying. We drove about an hour and would do it again. Authentic German food and German beer. Place was very busy for lunch.

My wife and I were in Hartford on business and the company we were visiting was having their Christmas party here and they insisted we come! I love German food and their's was excellent. There was a special menu and I had wiener schnitzel with reg cabbage and i would order it again. they have a good assortment of german... More

Having lived in Germany for a few years we were excited to try this place. I would say go more for the beer and fun atmosphere than the food quality. The meals are large and heavy as you would expect. They sing songs when you order the large beer steins and everyone gets involved. Something different

I'll start by saying the food was decent and seemed very authentic BUT the food was EXTREMELY overpriced we were shocked, the beer selection was poor (waitress compared a few beers to bud light...ummm...), and the wine pours were skimpy at best. There are no reasonable priced items on the menu, all entrees are $35+. Desserts were disappointing.
