My family and I went to dinner at the DPI on Saturday, September 27, 2014. We ate in the Pub, which is small and can be a little loud with the folks sitting at the bar getting drunk deafness. This was ok with us, as this is to be expected when you dine in the bar of ANY restaurant. Our... More

Husband took me here for my birthday. The place was beautiful, the food outstanding and the service was great. Has definitely become one of my favorite places.

Recently had dinner upstairs to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I was not disappointed with my choice of restaurants in Mystic for this special dinner. We got there early so we were happy to go downstairs to the bar area for a drink before dinner. Well, it was quite interesting as it was very very small and very crowded. Standing room... More

Friendly service in a historic setting, and a very good menu with lots of solid choices. The calamari was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. It was one of the best calamari dishes I've ever had. Also enjoyed the clam chowder and I had a taste of my wife's lemon peppered chicken, which was fantastic. My only complaint was the... More

Went with friends to their bar below the restaurant. We usually eat upstairs, but wanted to try their bar. It was awesome. Food and service fantastic. Just love this restaurant!

My husband and I had an early dinner. We started off with the wild boar sausage, which is good, but I can get just as good at the grocery. We also had the onion rings, which were good, but Popeye's Fried Chicken in Louisiana has much better. We ordered the crab panini and hot lobster roll. The crab panini was... More

A historic gem of a place with welcoming comfort food. We had the local Mystic IPA beer with a high degree of hops. Tasty with the lobster rolls and hand cut fries. Friendly service too!

My third time here, and the food is still very good. Visiting from Virginia and the food is always good, although a little pricey. The Truffle Scallops were fantastic!

The restaurant, originally built in 1754, was bustling with diners on a Thursday night. If you expect to have lots of dining space and quiet conversation, this is not the place for you. But if you want a meal that's delicious with very generous servings, then this IS the place for you. Our waitress was attentive and the food arrived... More

DPI seems to be on everyone's top 5 Mystic list, says more about Mystic than DPI. Oysters were VERY good, but should be at $3.00 each. Pumpkin soup ( Fall special) was more a purée than a soup but still delicious. Entrees very so/ so. Stuffed lobster unimpressive, heavy and not that tasty. Fruit de Mer was mediocre, pasta blah....
