Good place for families and large groups

My husband and I decided the try the boathouse because the menu looked great, and it seemed like a good place to bring our young daughter. My sangria was ok and my meal, Cajun chicken gnocchi, was delicious! My husband and I thought his chicken Parmesan was average. My daughter enjoyed the warm... read more

Friends and I stopped here on a night out. We were surprised there was no wait at 6 on a Friday but it was off season. The menu and specials all looked great. I ended up ordering the Scallops with risotto and ate every bite. The food was great, the atmosphere was nice and service was good.

The Boathouse looks cute from the outside and very cozy when you walk in. But it is Over priced. Very expensive and not a lot of choices on the menu. Disappointing and left a hungry hole in our pocket.

The food was not as good as I expected. 3 drinks during happy hour ended up being expensive fully priced at bill time. With so much available in Mystic I will try others before returning. Waitress other than the bill was very attentive.

This restaurant looked appealing from the outside just5 minutes walk from our hotel the Mystic Hyatt Plaza and lived up to our expectations. The food, particularly the scallops and the service were excellent and there was a nice relaxed attitude and ambiance about the place.

In many ways a typical seafood restaurant but this was a particularly pleasing dining experience. We went for dinner on a very busy night and with no tables immediately available, we had a drink in the bar. Not impressed with the service here and quite honestly the only person serving was not coping very well with many people waiting with... More

Next time I will try the dining room as the lounge appeared to be only staffed by one waitperson. Kind of long waits for things. Hanger steak was disappointing and overpriced.

We were in Rhode Island attending my son's Navy OCS graduation and afterwards we decided to head to Mystic, Conn. After attending the aquarium there, we decided we wanted seafood. We found "The Boathouse" and after looking at the menu decided on the stuffed lobster. We never had Maine lobster before, just different rock lobsters. This was the best lobster... More

We should have known better - I don't think we have ever had a decent pizza in the USA. But the description sounded good and my wife and daughter decided to share one. It wasn't good. And the cucumber in the salad was badly frost damaged - frankly it should just have been put in the bin. To be fair... More
