This unassuming restaurant is a real find, and if you're traveling through New England, it's not very far off of I-95. We live in a town near Milford, CT and over the years we've tasted over 75 of the dishes offered by Lao Sze Chuan, never disappointed. While the inexpensive lunch (soup, spring roll, main dish, dessert, tea) is mostly... More

Unbelievable to have this place in such a small town like Milford. The place is also very small with minimal decoration. But they served good Chinese food, especially the vegetable. Price is reasonable.

Don't go here for chop suey: This is the real thing. We started with a well-prepared dish of pickled jelly fish with minced scallion sauce. The strips of jelly fish were nicely dressed in the green, smooth sauce,—different from the usual coating of sesame oil—and quite delicious. An order of "stuffed tofu crepe with black mushrooms and bamboo shoots," happily... More

Came in after a bike ride for lunch at the recommendation of a Japanese friend who swears it's the best Asian food outside of NYC. It didn't disappoint. We were limited in what we could try since there was only two of us. So we ordered two different "set lunch" combos. I got the hot and sour soup, white rice... More

Had a chance to experience this place family style with several colleagues from work who are from China. Excellent. Be adventurous. Jellyfish and Pigs Ear were outstanding apps. The fish, lamb and beef entrees were delicious. Go here with someone who is from China and you will experience an authentic meal. No General Tso's chicken allowed.

Truly authentic Chinese food. You can have your typical dishes such as low mein, or be more adventuress and have pig ears. The ambience is fine, not fancy. Look around at the other patrons and you will see many of Chinese origin, a good aign. What ever you have it will be great, and less Americanized (read: McDonalds). Lunches are... More

The waiters were inept at best. Busboys took forever to clear tables with 20 people waiting to sit down. Couldn't tell Shiraz from Sauvignon blanc. That being said, the food was fabulous. Every dish was excellent. But did all the servers call in sick for the holiday?

I took my family here recently because I used to work across the street and knew the food to be good. We were on a mini vacation and this was to be our last meal before heading back to NY. I can't comment on the food because we didn't get any! After waiting 45 minutes to get our food and... More

For many years, I liked the food here and got quite good serve. But last a few month, I feel quite different!: 1. Gave us wrong order a few times. now we have to give the dish name, provide details and confirm. 2. The manual said there is Heineken, but no beer Heineken! I asked a few times and even... More
