Ups and downs

This was my first time eating in Milford, so I admit that I have nothing to compare it to. What I do know is that the food here is more pan-Spanish than Basque specifically, and the menu reads pretty interesting, but the execution is unbalanced. If and when I do return to dine in Milford, I'd... read more

Save yourself some time and some money and avoid this place. I was so surprised that in this day and age, considering how much competition is out there, that this place gets away with serving such bad food with such bad service. Ordered brussel sprouts, which were boiled - yes, boiled - and tasteless artichokes. Disgusting deep fried raviolis fileld... More

I've lived in Milford over 40 years and drive through Milford Center at least weekly. I have to confess that I never noticed Bistro Basque. My friend suggested it for dinner saying she had never been disappointed so we met there one winter evening. I should have known it would be great when I found a “drive into it” space... More

My husband made reservations for dinner for Valentines Day. They said they only had 6:00pm or 8:00pm available so he took 6:00pm. When we arrived they sat us in this back room that looked like someone's celler. No atmosphere at all. Then they gave us a menu that was a pre fix for 60.00 a person. There was no mention... More

I really enjoy it. The atmosphere is great, authentic Spanish bistro feel from the decor to the music, to the tapas! The small plates are great. Steamed Mussels and the paella and great choices. Seafood/lobster risotto and braised short rib were also done to perfection for entrees. We will definitely be back to try more options.

Bistro bisque is a cozy quaint place. At first my husband and I were surprised by the closeness of the seating to other guests. Once we had a glass of sangria and a taste of their lobster bisque it felt as if we were the only customers. The paella was delicious! A nice place to catch up with a friend... More

The ladies all went out so my buddy and I returned to the Bistro Basque. We had been there previously a few years ago and remembered that we liked it a lot. We never got around to ordering dinner, as we started with 3 different tapas, had three more, a few drinks, and I think we had dessert. EVERYTHING was... More

I have been to BB multiple times and it seems that it is slowly getting worse each time. My wife and I went on a beautul fall day last week. We decided to try BB for lunch. We asked to sit on the patio. We were told it was closed for lunch??? We decided to sit at the tables in... More

We love the BB! Amazing food, beyond the norm. Outstanding, fresh and delicious. We are always amazed when we walk through the dining room through the back and are instantly transported to Spain or France, it's like a portal! The patio is one of my favorite spots anywhere in the world. Wait staff is good, fun and perfectly there. LOVE... More

My wife and I ate dinner here, because of the appeal of the menu and the generally favorable reviews it has received. I was quite pleased with my entrée--scallops with mashed potatoes on spinach. My wife found her paella ordinary -- all the right ingredients but bland. The comment from another reviewer about deterioration in service rang true. We ordered... More
