Has to be one of the best restaurants I've been too, ever

And I'm not overly generous with the superlatives. Check my other reviews. Tapa's were very good. I had a combined meat entree that was tasty but not spectacular. There could have been a tastier sauce and the chicken could have been sliced thinner for moisture retention. In general, the comparable restaurants in the area offer more variety and ambiance.

But the Tapas we ordered were all thought up by some culinary genius, prepared and presented perfectly, and were far made of a a far more interesting combination of ingredients than you could expect at even a high-end "normal" American restaurant. The theme was Basque, but I couldn't... More

my granddaughter and I enjoyed 3 tapas and a beautiful tasty dessert - the baked goat cheese (Picodon) grilled Squid ( my favorite) and Brussel sprouts in Béchamel sauce- all perfectly done and while I usually never order dessert I always order dessert at Bistro- blueberry custard to die for ... love the feel of the place, David the owner... The food in this restaurant is outstanding. We had the paella, halibut and three tapas appetizers. Each was a perfect 10. The atmosphere is unique. The place looks like it has been put together from a rummage sale of tables and chairs. While eclectic, it is comfortable. The service is excellent. The food comes out quickly and well prepared. The... More

I have probably walked past Bistro Basque hundreds of times and never noticed it before. Thanks TripAdvisor for another great find! I had the tapas special roasted pepper stuffed with lamb which was delicious. The halibut special was fresh and tasty with roasted veggies and taragon sauce (I left the white rice behind). Great food on a cute little patio... More

We wandered in and sat at the bar thinking we would just have a drink and an appetizer. The gentleman serving at the bar (owner?) was extremely attentive and humorous and we ended up having a full meal (and bottle of wine). The codfish croquetes were amazing and we split a salmon entree which was rich but delicious. Great wine... More

The food is good and so is the sangria. However on the last visit, my date and I wanted to share the paella. It is a sizable dish. We had also ordered two tapas and sangrias before the entree. The owner, who took our order argued that we should have two entrees because there were many interesting dishes on the... More

We have been many times in the past five years. Always fantastic food and atmosphere. We were just there for an afternoon private party and the food was fantastic as always.

We stopped in for an early supper. The staff were not unfriendly, but more interested in setting up the service for dinner hour. My tapas of squid and rice in squid ink was tasty, but too much for a tapas and almost all rice with a few tiny pieces of squid. And someone had just taken a large handful out... More

I lived in new haven for 5 years, and moved away about 5 years ago. so I had not been to my favorite restaurant in Milford for a long time. this past weekend, we had to drive up to take care of some real estate transactions. I decided to take my partner there. I noticed some rather negative reviews on... More
