Scribner's has been a long time favorite of mine. The food is always excellent, and for that reason it is sometimes crowded. It is my restaurant of choice when I want to celebration something special.

Every year, we have our Anniversary dinner at Scribner's! It is our favorite for special occasion celebrations. The food is delicious-always top quality; the tables are set with nice linens; the service is wonderful. My highest recommendations for this very special place!

We have dined here over the years and it keeps getting better. Located in a neighborhood near the water, Scribner's has been serving great food for 40 years. The meals include a salad and they are generously portioned. The escargot appetizer is delicious, as was the fish cakes and both come highly recommended. I had the scallop special and hubby... More

My wife had seafood and I had the rack of lamb...oh my goodness was it delicious! The price was a bit high (but it is Connecticut after all), but the food was well worth it. Best rack of lamb I have ever had!! I would go there again for a special occasion!

We have been going to Scribners since they opened over 40 years ago. It is still one of our favorite restaurants, especially for seafood. As one other reviewer said, it is tricky to find the restaurant if you are not familiar with the area, but it is well worth the journey. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly.... Comfortable atmosphere with great seafood and excellent service. You'll need good directions or a GPS system, as the restaurant is off the "beaten path". .

Given the location, just a stone's throw from the Long Island Sound, one would expect the best seafood going, but it is just average. We were there with a party of six, all but one of whom had been there previously. All agreed it was like playing roulette. My striped bass in parchment was tasteless and mundanely presented with the... More

For the record: I consider myself a foodie. I've been to lots of those fancy nueva Latina and Pacific Rim places, where you can get beautiful, interesting seafood. However, this is my second time to Scribner's and we (my parents, my in-laws, and my husband) love this place. It's cozy. It's "old school." It feels like it could --maybe-- use... More
