Good Pizza/Italian Restaurant in Middletown

I've been at First and Last twice in the past two weeks. The first time was for late afternoon drinks and pub food, the second with my college sophomore granddaughter and two of her friends. Service was good and food was good, both times....not exceptional, but good.

Visited the First and Last again( it's been a few years) and everyone really enjoyed their lunch. The soup of the day was chicken barley and it was delicious - very flavorful, with a good amount of chicken and barley. Three people had grinders and each one commented on the great taste, especially for the Italian sausage grinder. It was... More

Walked in and was to be seated at a dirty booth. We looked around and noticed the other booths seats were wet and greasy from the bus boys dish pan. Enough said. If the booths were firthy then I could only imagine the kitchen..... First Walked in then Lastly walked out....

We went to this establishment, First & Last Tavern, for a quiet Birthday meal. The building which housed the eatery presumably is a historical one. But the building is modernized with red bricks, neighboring with the Police Department of Middletown. No monkeying around there. As the restaurant was located at the Main Street of the town, there was no parking... More

I visited the restaurant with my husband. We sat at the restaurant's bar. Is pretty and nice. The food was incredible and the chef himself came up to us to introduce himself and to make sure we were happy with the food. If you are looking for a nice place to eat with your family or a nice little bar... More

A group of friends, my wife, and I went there to eat before going to see a U2 cover band (UF2) play in another town. One of our group wanted to try it out so we went out of our way to go there. First off I do have to say it was busy but it is not an excuse.... More

A unplanned post-funeral gathering brought us to First & Last at 11:30am on a Saturday. They had just opened and didn't t bat an eye when 20+ of us showed up. Two waiters quickly arranged tables set-up with menus, water, and hot bread then welcomed us to sit. I had a meatball part grinder served with tasty fries and a... More

Had a white pizza with Mozz, tomatoes and basil. It was very good. The crust is not super thick which I like.

For a nice change from coloring while you wait for your food, on Monday's one of the kid's menu options is make your own pizza. A pre-stretched dough circle (tasted and kid approved), sauce (also tasted and kid approved), pepperoni (tasted, oh you see where I'm going) and/or cheese is delivered to your table and the kid makes their own... Visited the 'tavern' once. I sat in the bar lounge area. It was an extremely busy night. My drink order was taken 10 minutes later. Apparently my waiter was working more than just this area. I also ordered an individual pizza margherita. The 'Manhattan' arrived. It came to me looking like a PINK lady. I inquired of the waiter if this... More
