very nice option

Esca isn't a budget restaurant, but the small plates they offer are all very tasty and original. The wines that we tasted were quite nice, sadly I don't remember what we had. All in all, this is a nice spot for a light lunch.

My husband and I visited Italy last fall, and we can tell you that Esca reminded us of all the fine restaurants we visited there. The food was amazing. The waitstaff was as polite, knowledgeable, well-groomed and solicitous as could be. If you can't afford to go to Italy anytime soon, please visit Esca for an authentic Italian fine dining... More

I am new to Middletown and my friends came to visited me. I went to ESCA due to word of mouth and happy hour. The drinks were decent for the happy hour price but the service is the reason why I will not go back. The waitress had such a bad attitude, when we ordered it was like we were... More

My husband and I had been to this restaurant about a year ago and was very happy with our experience, so when friends invited us to go there we looked forward to the visit. We left very disappointed various things. The service was atrocious. We had to bring our credit cards with the check into the bar area. Our credit... More

The restaurant was surprisingly large, but had an intimate feel. The service was excellent and our meals (four of us) were delicious. I had the salmon which I would highly recommend.

I am shocked to see that one diner and her little daughter were ignored here. That sucks and they should receive a nice fat gift certificate, no questions asked. Unlike them, my husband and I were welcomed here with a hospitality that was not matched by any other restaurant we visited. We did have reservations for dinner. The customer service... More

We just had dinner there last night, six friends at $500. The entire night the table was shifting and when we pulled back the cover found a light, cheap grade card table. We called the Manager over to complain and this is really where the 1-star comes in. Her response was that they were over booked so they had to... More

Well, where do I start, OK after being seated for a while telling the staff we were ready to place our drink order, then one of the glasses was dirty with lipstick. Then 3 of the 4 food orders were wrong, while the 4th had seafood that was overcooked. They offered desert for the mishaps but still 2 of the... More

Friends of mine and myself went out for a girls night and decided on Esca. I got there early so I ordered a drink at the bar. It was a blood orange martini and was delicious. I highly recommend making reservations as it was a Friday night and very busy. When we sat down we ordered drinks and apps all... More

In Cromwell, CT for a meeting and was looking for a slightly upscale restaurant with a decent wine list and Esca fit the bill! Service is fast and attentive, the menu is inventive and well constructed, making for a very pleasant meal and evening! The only slight negative I would report is that the high ceiling make the restaurant a... More
